ClickOrlando.com - FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – A Broward jury has awarded $800,000 in damages in a lawsuit that alleged hot chicken McNuggets from a local McDonald’s franchise left a young girl severely burned, according to News 6 partner WPLG-TV.
Closing statements concluded Wednesday in the second trial to determine the damages that will be awarded to a family who filed a lawsuit against McDonald’s and its franchisee, Upchurch Foods Inc., after their 4-year-old daughter was severely burned by a chicken nugget.
Earlier this year, a separate jury found some fault with both McDonald’s and the franchisee after the family claimed a Chicken McNugget burn left their daughter “disfigured and scarred.” The jury found that both were liable for failure to warn about the “foreseeable risks of harm.”

Have a birthday or other special event
coming up soon? Maybe you need to find
a gift for someone special. How about this?
And how much fault is the family''s for failure to supervise their 4 year old? I hope they appeal the award and have it reduced.
ReplyDeleteAnd if the nuggets were cold, they would've sued. They're just looking for a payday and as long as crooks keep getting rewarded, this crap will continue.
ReplyDeletePersonally, I never gave my 4 year olds anything without testing it first to see how hot it might be...put chicken nuggets in front of the a/c vent more times than I can count....bad parenting....same as the old fart who sued McCd's over the hot coffee....if it was me on the jury, the old bat would still be waiting for her payday...the death of common sense in this country was a tragic day, for sure....
ReplyDeleteAnother case of the jury going "Poor girl, Mcd's can pay they are a big company with large deep pockets".
