Now that I'm not working anymore...

'What day is today?' has become a fairly common saying
around here. Days of the week don't mean much
if you don't got to mass anymore...

It's impossible to get my head around the idea that this song was released 57 years ago...

Time to start paying attention again...

Americans are expected to eat roughly 150 million hot dogs on July 4th — and many of those Americans will be doing it wrong, according to the National Hot Dog and Sausage Council.
The National Hot Dog and Sausage Council (NHDSC), a trade association established by the North American Meat Institute (NAMI) in 1994, has long celebrated all varieties of hot dogs and condiments. But there’s one topping the NHDSC just can’t tolerate, and the council is making its feelings known ahead of Independence Day.
“No matter how you top it, any hot dog is delicious,” said NHDSC President Eric Mittenthal in a 2021 press release. “Well, except for hot dogs with ketchup. The National Hot Dog and Sausage Council etiquette guide says only children should eat their hot dogs with ketchup.”

Forbes did a survey and determined which airport in the country is the worst this time of year. The outlet analyzed on-time arrival performance as well as airfare prices during the summer months at the 100 busiest airports. They found that Orlando Sanford International Airport has the lowest percentage of on-time flights at just 67 percent. Flights at the airport are also frequently delayed by weather and late-arriving planes, according to Forbes. You don't have to convince me - especially at this time of year when afternoon thunderstorms are almost obligatory.
About ten years ago a baggage handler got hit by lightning while on the tarmac and was killed. The union pushed for - and got - a work ruling that no baggage will be loaded or unloaded if there is a lightning strike within five miles of the airport. At least that's the story some guy told me.

North Central Florida (where I live, thank you) is the lightning strike capital of the country. Four Corners, Florida, an area just a few miles to the south and west of Orlando and about 60 miles east of me, was found to have the highest lightning strike density of anywhere in the entire U.S.

There's a thing called 'the random order of numbers' or some shit like that
that says there is a law that regulates just how random a number can actually be.
For instance, there are 365 days in a year, right? We all know that, or at least should. Anyway. if you were to sit in a room by yourself and one at a time indivual people would walk in to the room, how many of them would have to come in before somebody had the same birth date as you?
It could be the very first one or the very last - that's one simplistic rule of random numbers. The other kinda 'rule' is that, on average, that person would be the 168th to enter. I have no idea why - that shit is way above my pay grade. But this is important shit that you should be filling all those little holes in your brain with.

  3. It's Mars because the government tells you it's Mars? Maybe it looks familiar because it's being filmed on Earth. Why would the government start telling the truth now?

    1. I believe it is Mars. Yes, it does look like some of the areas of California in the desert areas. However, I still believe it is Mars. (get yourself to Mars!)
Hopefully I will know someone that will be landing there in the future.

  6. Unfortunately for Yankee fans, the Yanks big time payroll isn't providing results....lots of star power, but the Rays are an example of high motivation provided by a less talented team....problem for the Rays will be the raid on the fine young players who are providing the record setting season....McClanahan, for example, will be pitching for the Yankees against the Rays in a very short time span....JMMHO...

Does polling matter to anyone? Beuhler? Beuhler?

The reality is that none of the polls are perfect for a variety of reasons.  What questions they do ask, how they ask them, who they ask and...
