Going to Aldi but you don't have a quarter for the shopping cart lock?

Stupid 'life hack' # 749...

Normally I don't go in for shit like this, but I gotta thank whoever came up with this idea. Not only is he or she brilliant in the 'thinking outside the box' category, but he or she is also one cheap motherfucker. That's one helluva combo.
If you frequent grocery stores and use shopping carts, you know that forgetting to bring a quarter can be a real problem. The store's policy of requiring a quarter to release a shopping cart can leave you empty-handed and frustrated. However, there is a simple cart hack that can save the day. Simply use the back end of almost any key you have on your keychain in place of a quarter.

The deposit lock is designed to hold a quarter-sized object, so your house key should fit perfectly. This simple trick will allow you to release the cart and continue your shopping without any hassle.

  2. Back in the dark ages when i were a lad, to call from a phone box in England you needed to push 4 old pennies in,
being a penniless child in the 60's (and taxed to penury now by the state) pushing the round end of a standard Yale key in 4 times would work the tumbler mechanism.
