TheSun.com - Starting yesterday and going on until July 22, state law enforcement agencies, such as the department of transportation, highway patrol, and local police, will be conducting the speed enforcement campaign. The goal of the campaign is to enforce speed limits as drivers head out for their summer travels to prevent further injuries.
Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and Tennessee are all participating in the southern United States.
In Florida, highway patrol will be focusing on drivers who are speeding above limits posted on interstates and highways. That means they won't even be giving you the 'courtesy' 8 mph over that they normally do.
Welcome to the South, y'all...
Mid-summer coffer refill.
ReplyDeleteIn Georgia only a State Patrol can give a ticket for less than 10 over unless you are in a school zone.
ReplyDeleteSo glad they're not doing anything silly like this in NJ, where the accepted weekend fair weather daytime highway speed range is 82-95mph in a 55 or 65 zone. The Staties don't even patrol, much less pull people over. Ok, "down the shore" things are probably different, ticket the "bennies" of course, but across the rest of the state it's a racetrack.
