Americans increasingly say that transgender athletes should only be allowed to compete on sports teams that match their gender assigned at birth.

According to a new survey from Gallup, 69% of Americans say that transgender athletes should only play on teams that match their assigned gender at birth – not their gender identity – compared to 62% who said the same in 2021, the last time the polling organization asked the question.
