Although I'm not retired - yet - this is the absolute number one reason I moved here to Florida. Oh, and palm trees and sunshine and flip-flops...

What would the reverend doctor you-know-who have to say about this? The NAACP's President and CEO Derrick Johnson (left) said the advisory was 'in direct response' to Ron DeSantis' 'aggressive attempts to erase black history and to restrict diversity, equity, and inclusion programs in Florida schools.' 'Florida is openly hostile toward African Americans, people of color and LGBTQ+ individuals,' states the advisory issued on Saturday night by the civil rights group.
The Florida Governor has not yet publicly responded to the travel advisory, but slammed the idea when it was first floated in March, when the Florida chapter of the NAACP first asked national leaders to consider the measure. 'What a joke,' he said at the time (footage middle). 'Yeah, we'll see, we'll see how effective that is.' DeSantis last signed a bill into law which bans the state's public colleges and universities from spending money on diversity, equity and inclusion programs.
This guy, a so-called 'leader', is a perfect example of why this country is so divided. The NAACP has always been a respectable, honorable organization as best as I know. He besmirches and diminishes it with his bullshit. Fuck him.

I have a friend since junior high that was a master craftsman when it came to wood. He had an innate genius. In highschool, in the 80s,someome offered him $1500 for his end table project. Anyway, he set up a business doing custom woodwork. Some rich person had him redo his house's interior and eventually stiffed my friend on the bill. My friend said he'd call a lawyer and the guy laughed and said he had 7 lawyers on retention and could bury him in legal fees.
ReplyDeleteMy friend had to fold his company. He said the people that can afford such work don't appreciate it, and those that appreciate it can't afford it.
I question the credibility of any survey that shows Massachusetts having any quality of life. If it had any, explain why Vermont is full of refugees from there.
ReplyDeleteVirginia may be assessed as #1, but in that state, there is a cop behind every tree. One of the reasons I moved the hell out of VA. Oh, and traffic there is ridiculous too.
