The summer of 81 my girlfriend's parents had a beach house they used on weekends at Ponte Vedra beach and I needed a place to stay during the week for my summertime job. It was a crash pad for me but the neighbors had a party every night, The beachouse next door belonged to Tom Petty. I never saw him there but Merle Haggard was there all summer. I saw Roy Orbison there once. I would crash their on-going party on a regular basis showing up with a piece of meat for their grill and partaking of the keg and any smokable intoxicants. My girlfriend was really into their parties.
