Trump trashed Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis at the first rally of his 2024 presidential campaign in Waco, Texas, on Saturday night.
Trump hit DeSantis on a number of fronts, including Social Security, Medicare, and the coronavirus pandemic, but his harshest criticism came on the issue of 'loyalty'.
Trump recounted that an emotional DeSantis approached him during Florida’s 2018 gubernatorial primary race against Adam Putnam and essentially begged for an endorsement to help land the nomination:
Trump also dubbed DeSantis a “disciple” of former House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI), adding, “That’s why he wanted to cut Social Security and Medicare.”
Furthermore, Trump asserted that several Republican governors handled lockdowns during the coronavirus pandemic “much better” than DeSantis and mocked his standing in the polls.
If The Donald would stick to the current issues and problems facing all of us under this administration, he'd have a much broader appeal.
Personal attacks and stupid fuckin' nicknames are a major turn-off to a guy like me - especially against members of his own party and a guy he's backed and endorsed in the past.
It's gamesmanship at it's worst and really gets in the way of the kind of leader he can - and should - be.

Trump needs to own up to and deeply and sincerely apologize for his populating his cabinet with the swamp and the Deep State, and for allowing them to destroy this nation with the plannedemic lies. Then he needs to do the same regarding the death jab and explain his continued promotion of the jabs and explain how he was pressured into his complicity with the ongoing genocide.
ReplyDeleteJen Bush endorsed Desantis. I was in his camp until that kiss of death. You can learn a lot by looking at someone’s enemies and friends.
ReplyDeleteReagan's 11th commandment comes to mind: that shalt not speak ill of your fellow Republicans. This is why Soros wants DeSantis to run. Get Trump and DeSantis to destroy each other in the primary. Don't get me wrong, I will be much happier with either of them as president versus any Democrat that you can name.
