Florida man hits the road. And the truck. Yikes...

COCOA, Fla. – A 38-year-old Cocoa man was killed Monday morning
in a crash in Brevard County, the Florida Highway Patrol said. The fatal wreck happened around 6:45 a.m. on U.S. 1 near Spring Street in Cocoa.
The FHP said the man was riding a bike north on the southbound shoulder of U.S. 1 and had a small dog on a leash running beside him.
Troopers said it’s believed that the dog ran into the road, bringing the bicyclist into the right lane, where both were struck by an oncoming Ford pickup truck. The bicyclist was taken to Rockledge Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

The dog died at the scene. The driver of the pickup, a 58-year-old Titusville man, was not injured and remained at the scene, the FHP said.
