Two things happened last night...

The first and most important is that yesterday was
the last day of Hurricane season...

The second is that Orion has made his appearance. Life is good.

NPR will need to cut at least $10 million from the current fiscal year ending next Sept. 30, the network's chief executive, John Lansing, announced Wednesday, due to a sharp drop in revenue from sponsors. Lansing told staffers in a memo that he intended to avoid layoffs, but would be forced to severely curtail hiring, amounting to what he described as "close to a total hiring freeze." The network will also sharply cut back discretionary spending and non-essential travel. The $10 million cut constitutes approximately 3% of NPR's current annual budget.
NPR has veered so far to the left of left that 990% of their programming is genuinely insulting. I, for one, used to be a yearly donater to my local NPR station. no matter where I lived. No more. Fuck 'em. Let the LGBTQXYZ community support 'em now...

Several prominent liberals, including Senate Budget Committee Chairman Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), Senate Banking Committee Chairman Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio) and Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), declined to say whether they would vote to 'force workers to accept the labor deal' brokered by the emergency board President Biden created in July.
Sanders only said he would insist on a vote on additional sick leave but dismissed questions about how that vote needs to be set up as “speculating.” Brown said he’s “going to insist that we have an agreement with paid leave days,” but added he didn’t want to say whether the lack of extra sick days would be a “deal breaker.”

University of Florida has suspended backup quarterback Jalen Kitna indefinitely after his arrest on child pornography charges. Kitna was arrested Wednesday after a search of his apartment. He’s facing charges of possession of child pornography and distribution of child pornography.

I was thinking about this - it's so prescient to today's world
ya almost have to wonder if it's legit or not. Juss' sayin'...

Even if it's bogus it's still a pretty cool idea...

Personally, I think it's a great idea. I can't imagine how anything could possibly get fucked up when you have a robot - run by software - with access to lethal weaponry? It's silly to even think this is a bad idea. The machines can't possibly be hacked by some nefarious little geekizoid...

This is the town my grandfather Angelo Mainiero was born in and came to America from. Ariano Irpino, Italy. When he left here to go to America - by himself - he was 12 years old and had a boat ticket and $ 12.00 in his pocket. His father rode him on the family donkey cart to the train station for the ride to Naples and when he dropped him off there, Angelo never saw his father again...

Hey - you guys out on the West Coast - thanks so much for your interest in Barbara's jewelry - I really appreciate it! Keep up the good work...
When she has a sale, she has the Etsy app on her phone and it makes a 'cash-register' sound to let her know that she sold something, so you guys that buy at like 9:00 or 10:00pm your time, the notice comes in here at like midnight or later because of the time difference.
Of course she hears it - Babs has friggin' 'bat hearing' and hears the phone all the way in the bedroom and of course it wakes her up. It's friggin' hilarious, so buy to your heart's content guys. Sometimes it's the best laugh I get all day...

  1. Orion is a daily thing in Texas. How far North does someone have to be for him to dip below the horizon?

  2. The mid-terms are over, so the Democrats won't need the unions for a couple of years. How many of those Senators will be up for reelection in 2024?

  3. Emigration from Italy is same story as dear old father in law at age 11. He left from Borgiallo. Somehow managed to get to the west coast where he was raised by an uncle.

  4. Orion's takin' his dog fer a walk? C'mon. let's git Sirius.
I wouldn't worry too much about NPR, FJB'll just ask Chuckie to put aside another Billion or so to keep 'em running.
I could never see anything in Matt Wuerker's cartoons; to me they're all very childish Progressive propaganda.

  6. Nolan Ryan was one tough hombre..
No disrespect to Mike Maddux but I'm convinced that the Rangers having the GOAT in the front office led the their only 2 world series births. (Just couldn't finish for whatever reason).
Now Ryan is in Houston with 2 championships.
    Winning is contagious
