A man and woman in Georgia confused a Walmart cashier in order to steal more than $6,000 in merchandise and gift cards. The pair loaded a Walmart cart with a bunch of expensive items in Grovetown on Nov. 30, according to the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office. When they got to the cash register, they made several card transactions, according to deputies, WRDW reported.
The two people managed to confuse the cashier when they asked that the “cash” button on the register be hit in order for their credit card to work. The tactic then led to the merchandise getting rung up as if it would be paid for by cash, so their credit cards were not charged. They left the store with $3,400 in merchandise and $3,000 in gift cards. The sheriff’s office is calling the incident a “theft by deception.”

Why not more windfarms? Because it takes more energy to manufacture and install the stupid things than they will ever produce in their useful lifetime. And they still require huge amounts of hydraulic oil for the gearboxes and lube for the bearings. It's a scam. A "feel-good because we're ignorant" scam. If it weren't for the tax breaks, nobody would build these things with their own money.
ReplyDeleteIf you look at the Wind Farms of California's Altamont Pass that has been there for decades there are many wind machines dead and not working. Also this kills over 1M birds a year as they migrate North-South and many are species that are on the critical list. As for the solar panels there have been many solar fields built and then within ten years they are taken down due to no longer working. ROI is not good for Wind Farms or Solar Farms and if they did not get government grants they would not exist.
