A: I would burn their fuckin' house to the ground
if any of my neighbors did anything like this.
There is no B:
The Gay family (that's not a joke - it's their real name) in Lagrangeville, New York - right outside of Poughkeepsie - has broken their own Guinness Book of World Record with putting up 686,526 lights on their residential property. They say it takes months and months to put up all of the lights. But, I am sure a lot of dads out there are wondering the same question: what could the electric bill possibly be?
The family has SO many visitors from all over the place, so they also try to raise some money in the process for charity. The biggest organization that benefits is their local fire department. Over 500,000 dollars is expected to be raised this holiday season. They invite you to come take a look at their house, too! Where is the best Christmas light display in your part of the world and do you need to borrow my lighter?
...
Wisconsin now, I wonder if there's anybody left up there to turn the lights off...

Elon Musk is the kind of guy who enjoys poking his finger in the eyes of assholes, so this is his idea of 'fuck you funny' - he's announced the reinstatement of Donald Trump’s Twitter account after users on the social media platform voted by a slim majority to lift a ban on the former US president.
Trump’s account was suspended in 2021 after the 6 January Capitol riot for violating Twitter guidelines and the risk of “further incitement of violence”.
Musk announced the move after a poll on his own account, in which more than 15 million Twidiot votes were cast, with 51.8% in favour of reinstatement.
Shortly after taking over Twitter last month, the Tesla CEO had said that no decisions would be taken on reinstatement until a newly announced “content moderation council” had met, later adding that no bans would be lifted until there was a “clear process for doing so”.
... to be much closer. Still pretty friggin' impressive, ain't it?

Several factors are driving hikes in home heating prices, including the war in Ukraine, OPEC+ cuts, a surge in energy exports, lower energy inventories, and a high demand for natural gas in the US electric power sector

A perfect example of how a religion can twist a society in to such a weird and unworldly place. It's interesting to see in to these kinds of places, just to remind ourselves how much better off we are where we are.

Almost 300,000 pounds of weed, worth as much as $750m, from last summer’s production at 200 state-licensed farms are stockpiled, without a place to be sold and in danger of deteriorating. Distribution issues are to blame. Although the New York City has vape shops selling marijuana and CBD products on almost every street, and there are mobile weed vans on Times Square, New York’s office of cannabis management has yet to approve retail dispensaries.
Not one legal recreational dispensary has opened. Last week, a federal judge handed down an injunction that blocked the state from handing out licenses in Brooklyn and areas of the Hudson Valley region after a lawsuit claimed that the state’s cannabis equity program violates the US constitution.
Under the state’s Conditional Adult-Use Retail Dispensary program, or CAURD, people who are “justice-involved individuals”, or people with prior marijuana-related offenses, or their family members, are prioritized for licenses if they have experience owning and operating a business. Plaintiffs in the lawsuit claim the prioritizations are discriminatory.
State cannabis officials have not indicated how many dispensing licenses will be considered at a control board meeting scheduled for next week. But the number could be 150. Without dispensaries, New York producers are for the moment stuck with newly harvested mountains of stock. “It’s an unclear path to market,” said Melany Dobson of Hudson Cannabis, a weed farmer.

I only went to Hooters for the wings.
ReplyDeleteOkay...
DeleteTrue. The bar girls in Japan were much better at getting money out of guys than anyone at Hooters ever dreamed possible.
DeleteWhen my son was 3 his grandfather wanted to go to Hooters. My son decided that big screen TV's and chicken wings were the best things in life. I had to work every other weekend but I would get Wednesday off where I would spend the day with my son. I would let him pick the restaurant and he always picked Hooter's. The Hooter's girls all fawned over him but he ignored them.
ReplyDeleteYou think NYS is slow setting up weed dispensaries, wait until they tackle the new Improved Concealed Carry law.
