A New York Islanders fan had his hopes and dreams shattered within a matter of seconds last night, when his girlfriend appeared to brutally shut down his very public marriage proposal. Stumping up immense courage, the unidentified man took his shirt off -- his chest romantically emblazoned with 'Plz say yes yes yes' - and got down on one knee in front of 17,255 fans on opening night of the Islanders' NHL season vs. the Florida Panthers. A gathering of fans chanted 'just say no', and the mystery woman duly obliged. After a brief exchange with her boyfriend, she emotionally stormed away as he looked stunned and defeated.
It seems Bruno Mars' 'Marry You', which echoed in the background, was not enough to sway her.
That's why you don't propose in public no matter what the females tell you. If they want a public proposal then it's all about them and not being a couple.
