The year is 1967. I'm 14 and graduating from 8th grade. Can I PLEASE go back to that summer?

Listen to this while you scroll down reading. In the summer of '67, all my friends are listening to the Beatles and the Stones, but I'm more tuned in to the Temptations,  the Beach Boys, and the Young Rascals. This song is especially strong in my memories of that year and that summer.
I can see her face as clearly today as I could then - that was the summer I fell in love for the first time in my life, and I love her to this day, but that's a story for another day...

And not a single discussion of 'roids or PED's or any
of that other bullshit that's tainted other records.

I'm serious here - why do you guys think it's so important
for them to be so active and so involved in politics? I have
my reasons - I wanna hear yours.

Check out this beast one of my neighbors is selling because he just can't do the maintenance on it himself anymore, and you gearheads know more than I how important that is when you have a monster like this. When he fires this bad boy up, I can hear it fro three blocks away - especially when he pulls out of his driveway. He always wants to 'chirp the tires' a little bit to piss off his other neighbors. There's probably close to 500 old and classic cars in The Villages. Evidently, it's a big thing in the midwest. They have classic car shows at our town square every third Sunday  of the month so the old boys can show off their old toys.

A Tesla Megapack battery caught fire this morning at the local utility company PG&E’s Elkhorn Battery Storage facility in Monterey County, California.
The fire started at around 1:30AM this morning, according to PG&E’s operations comm manager, Jeff Smith. No injuries were reported at the scene.
Around 7PM PT / 10PM ET, the North County Fire Department and Monterey County Sheriff’s Office lifted the advisory and reopened the roads. In a tweet from the Public Information for Monterey County account, officials reported on the Megapack battery fire at the Elkhorn facility, saying, “While the fire is considered fully controlled, smoke may still occur in the area for several days.”
All of these kinds of batteries do tend to be a bit of a hazard, and in the cars, if you're in 'em and the doors are locked and the battery flares up on you, how you gonna open the doors to get out? Asking for a friend.

Looks like their hens are coming home to roost on decisions Merkel made on energy policy and it's not going to be pretty. They're already suffering from 170% inflation on energy costs, and they're saying that thousands of people will die there this winter for lack of heat. They're actually publicly predicting it.
Meanwhile, Germany has agreed to nationalize its biggest gas importer, Uniper, to avert a crisis as it battles energy shortages resulting from Russia’s war in Ukraine. The deal builds on a rescue package agreed in July, when Berlin took a 30% stake in the company, and includes a capital injection of €8bn (about $7b) of government money.
Uniper had been controlled by the Finnish state-owned energy company Fortum, which welcomed the announcement. It said Berlin would buy its shares for $500m, giving the state a 98.5% stake in the gas company. Fortum’s chief executive, Markus Rauramo, said: “Under the current circumstances in the European energy markets and recognizing the severity of Uniper’s situation, the divestment of Uniper is the right step to take, not only for Uniper but also for Fortum. Now the government is the largest energy supplier in the country? That doesn't bode well. Not in my book.
