Joe Biden on Friday admitted that his claim to have been arrested in South Africa in 1977 - a claim he repeated multiple times on the campaign trail in February 2020 - was not true.
Speaking to South Africa's president, Cyril Ramaphosa, Biden said: 'I said once - I said I got arrested. I wasn't arrested, I got stopped, prevented from moving.' Biden has a long history of exaggerating his own biography.
