In case you haven’t been paying close attention to New Jersey politics this summer, and who could blame you if you  haven't, here’s an open secret about their governor: He could run for president in 2024.
Gov. Phil Murphy has denied he intends a White House bid. But confidants and consultants admit privately the just-turned 65-year-old Democrat would make 'a good candidate', and some of them are at least weighing the possibility of a campaign just in case President Joe Biden decides he’s had enough.
“You’d have to put him in the category of a possible run,” said Glenn Totten, a national Democratic consultant. “I don’t see any reason why he would not consider it.”
One of the big questions in American politics today is whether Biden, 79, will seek a second term in two years — and whether the Democratic Party even wants him to. Biden, who scored some huge policy victories in recent weeks, has said he plans to run, and no one in the party seems poised to launch a Ted Kennedy-like primary challenge.
But that hasn’t stopped the speculation machine from cranking, with Murphy considered among the likely contenders who could swoop in to vie for the Democratic nomination if Biden retires. That’s even after the governor won a second term in blue New Jersey last November by a tighter-than-predicted margin.

“He’s a sitting governor, he’s term-limited, he’s not ready to retire, and he has an ego larger the MetLife Stadium. If you look around nationally, why not?” said former state Senate President Stephen Sweeney, a fellow Democrat who often clashed with Murphy.

Think about this picture the next time you're pouring your milk on your Cap't Crunch. This is a milk factory in Indiana. I had no idea this is how it's done. I somehow thought there was still a cute little country bumpkin girl in overalls on a stool somewhere tuggin' away. Maybe I over-romanticized it just a little bit, huh?

NASA said its engineers continue to prepare the Artemis I moon rocket
for a late August launch from Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The space agency is working toward the maiden voyage of the 32-story-tall Space Launch System, which will lift off from Launch Pad 39B, sending the crewless Orion spacecraft to orbit the moon.
When the Artemis I test flight happens, a crewless Orion will be sent on a path around the moon and back to Earth, splashing down in the Pacific Ocean. While no astronauts will be on board this flight, three manikins named Campos, Holga and Zohar will ride along and collect data throughout the mission. The first astronaut flight around the moon will be known as Artemis II, leading up to the return to the moon with Artemis III in 2025.

The National Hurricane Center is tracking a tropical wave in the eastern Atlantic Ocean. It's located west of the Cabo Verde Islands, and according to NHC, it's producing disorganized showers and thunderstorms. The system is given a 0% chance of development in the next 48 hours and a 20% chance in the next five days.
"Environmental conditions could support some slow development of this system while it moves westward to west-northwestward at around 15 mph across the tropical Atlantic during the next several days," the NHC advisory read.

My father bought one for my little sister when she was seven or so, and she never touched it. I, on the other hand, usta spend hours with that thing creating the stupidest shit you could imagine. Then , one day, I realized it was a geometry lesson disguised as a toy, and I never fucked with it again.

  1. As to Trump's comment about McConnell, it's long past time that McConnell's duplicity is brought into the open and I'm sick of his and the GOPe's ability to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory so they can continue to pretend to be conservatives while lining their pockets as members of the Swamp.

  2. The point of the border illustration is that there is no difference. Other than a smile.
