More sad news in New York City. It may not survive...

In normal times under normal conditions,
Donald Trump would probably jump in and save it.
These are not normal times...

The landmark eatery and rowboat rental, first opened in 1954, will cease operations on October 16. Operator Dean J. Poll, who had signed a 15-year license deal with the Parks Department in 2017, blamed the decision on spiking costs of labor and raw materials. But an employee, who asked to remain anonymous, said on Thursday that the measure follows Poll's failed attempt to renegotiate terms with the New York Hotel and Motel Trades Council. The Labor Department responded to inquiries that it 'can't speculate on why this business is closing.'

The boathouse, which has become a fixture in New York City, has also been featured in movies and TV series including 'When Harry Met Sally,' the 'Manchurian Candidate,' 'Three Men and a Little Lady' and 'Sex and The City.'
