Wouldn't it be a better world if we paid attention to the 99% of us who don't give a shit instead of the 1% who are offended by everything?
Minneapolis' First Avenue on Wednesday canceled a Dave Chappelle show at the last minute after facing public backlash for booking the comedian.
“To staff, artists, and our community, we hear you and we are sorry,” the venue said in a statement, announcing that the evening’s show had been canceled.
The decision came after an online petition on Change.org. “Dave Chappelle has a record of being dangerous to trans people, and First Avenue has a duty to protect the community," the petition, which had just over 120 signatures as of early Thursday morning, said.
"Chappelle’s actions uphold a violent heteronormative culture and directly violate First Avenue’s code of conduct," it said. "If staff and guests are held to this standard, performers should be too.”
Chappelle has faced widespread backlash over the past year over comments he made about transgender people in his Netflix special "The Closer."
He's a comedian you fucking idiots - we've lost our ability to laugh at ourselves let alone others...

As the first crop of U.S. concert dates for Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band’s highly anticipated 2023 tour went on sale Wednesday, fans were met with exorbitant prices on Ticketmaster caused by the website’s “market priced” system, allowing ticket prices to fluctuate due to demand.
Amid 'feverish demand' (their term, not mine), many floor and lower-level seats were labeled on Ticketmaster as “Official Platinum” seats, which “enables market-based pricing (adjusting prices according to supply and demand) for live event tickets, similar to how airline tickets and hotel rooms are sold.” And yet you know the fuckin' tour will sell out because people are idiots. Have I said that before?

Novak Djokovic’s hopes of playing in the US Open suffered another blow
after the tournament said it would respect the United States government’s rules on the Covid-19 vaccine.
The US requires non-citizens to be fully vaccinated against coronavirus to enter the country, meaning Djokovic, who has made it repeatedly clear that he will not take the vaccine, will not be allowed entry.
The Wimbledon champion, who was also banned from playing in the Australian Open due to his anti-vaccination stance, said after his success in London that he was waiting “hopefully for some good news from USA”.The 35-year-old – a three-time champion at Flushing Meadows – was named on the entry list for the final grand slam of the year on Wednesday, but that is routine, rather than an indication that he will be allowed to play.

That's when I realized that the same jerkoffs that
would pay four grand to hear Springsteen talk/sing
for a couple of hours would also pay $ 1,800 for
a clock that doesn't even have an alarm...
They should have an asterisk next to the name of the men's winner of the US Open, to indicate that Djokivic wasn't allowed to participate. So not a real win. If most tennis players had any real backbones, they'd all boycott the US Open this year.
ReplyDeleteThe tennis player should go to Mexico, then cross the border (No vax required there) into Texas, Texas will give him a free bus ride to NYC (Sanctuary City/State), play in the tournament, say he will voluntarily deport and the Feds will fly him back to his home country.
ReplyDeleteSorry, no connection between Springsteen fans and McIntosh fans. McIntosh are some of the world's greatest amplifiers and cost a fortune. Audiophiles love them. Rock musicians love them. Both love them because they accurately reproduce the whole spectrum of music. Springsteen is mostly midrange, augmented by some sloppy bass. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L1FXInoGF6E&t=8s
ReplyDeleteSo it's the same dame. 99% of readers said 'Who cares?'.
