And it's all because these fuckin' tree huggers
won't let us drill for more oil...
Currently, inflation in the UK is keeping pace with that in the US, and it is at the highest level since March 1982, when it also stood at 9.1%. The Bank of England has warned it will reach 11% this year. 'Inflation' is an over-used word, but by definition, it is 'the pace at which prices are going up'. For example, if a bottle of milk costs $2.00 and that rises by 10 cents compared with a year earlier, then milk inflation is 5%.
In a BBC-commissioned survey of more than 4,000 people in the UK, 82% said they thought their wages should increase to match the rising price of goods and services. That's the way a socialist society sees things.
If we don't come to realize - and very soon - that oil drives everything in the world economy, we're totally fucked. The entire world's economies are driven (pun intended) by the petroleum-based products we've developed over the last 120 or so years.
We know for a fact there's enough oil underground to keep us going for another 100 or so years, during which time any number of alternatives can and will be developed, but until then we need to be drilling the fuck outta whatever we can find, and forget about this 'green economy' bullshit.
