Why are mother's so important?

Because without them, we wouldn't any
of us be here, ya friggin' jackass.
That is an almost verbatim quote from a friend of mine last night.
Some people are just too valuable to ever let go of. Juss' sayin'...

Yeah - that's me and my mother - Sophie - in '54.

Mickey Gilley, country music star and owner of a famed eponymous Texas honky-tonk that inspired the movie “Urban Cowboy,” died Saturday at the age of 86. Gilley “passed peacefully with his family and close friends by his side” in Branson, Missouri, a statement from Mickey Gilley Associates said.
The “Window Up Above” singer and piano player, who was a cousin of rock legend Jerry Lee Lewis, had performed as recently as last month but had been in declining health in the past week.
He opened Gilley’s, “the world’s largest honky tonk,” in the early 1970s in Pasadena, Texas. Several years later he hit the charts with “Room Full of Roses” and enjoyed follow-up success with a string of hits like “Don’t the Girls All Get Prettier at Closing Time” and “She’s Pulling Me Back Again.”
I was lucky enough to meet Mickey back in '84 or '85 at a barbecue pig roast at a buddy of mine Gaston's house in Houston. He was a really cool, down-to-earth, normal kinda guy. We all got pretty fucked up and he ended the party singin' 5 or 6 songs for us. Was a lot of fun (what I can remember of it anyway). Sorry to see him go.

The whispering is getting louder...

On Thursday, we learned that a national poll conducted by Rasmussen Reports and the Heartland Institute found “that 61% of Likely U.S. Voters believe Biden should not run for a second term as president in 2024” while “Only 28% say Biden should seek reelection, while another 11% are not sure.”
Even more explosive: “If the next presidential election were held today, and Biden were running against Trump, 50% would vote for Trump while 36% would vote for Biden.”It’s a little closer for Florida’s Ron DeSantis. 46% of those surveyed would back DeSantis while 35% would support Biden.
“While 64% of black voters said they have a favorable opinion of Biden, only 39% want him to run for re-election,” the Heartland Institute showed.
“Among Hispanics, just 43% have a favorable opinion and only 31% want him to run in the 2024 presidential election. Women voters – a key to Biden’s 2020 victory – have soured on the president, with only 26% wanting him to run again.”

This and 'get Shorty'. His best work by far...

These are so fuckin' cool. These stickers are popping up on gas pumps all over the country.
There's a WaWa right near me and somebody tagged every one of the 12 pumps there. I've also seen them at the CircleK where I get my coffee in the afternoon.
It's pretty fuckin' funny and wouldn't it be a great trend if it continues all the way through his term until the next presidential race?
Here's the link if you wanna get some for yourself:

...

Obviously, this trend is a good thing for the country at large, but when you break down the numbers, it's actually in the 'blue states' where the largest gains are being made.
Again, this is a good thing as long as it's not reflective of 'blue voters' moving and bringing their bullshit liberal ideas in to red states like Florida and Texas where they could, in theory, tip the scales and turn the red states purple.
If that happens, we'll just have to release the hounds on all of 'em 'till they run back to wherever the fuck they came from. Juss' sayin'...
...

I can't figure out what the fuck that thing is
that they hit. Any ideas?

Name it without Googling it...

That's me, I guess...

    1. Thanks Jeff. My mom was a very pretty lady, and I'm not saying it just because I'm her kid. She was a stunner...
