Get a cat she said. It'll be cute she said...

Cats have this thing. They can't stand to see you sleeping comfortably once the sun starts to peak over the horizon. Yeah - real cute...

Coral bleaching affected 91% of reefs surveyed along the Great Barrier Reef this year, according to a report by government scientists that confirms the natural landmark has suffered its sixth mass bleaching event on record.
The Reef snapshot: summer 2021-22, quietly published by the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority on Tuesday night after weeks of delay, said above-average water temperatures in late summer had caused coral bleaching throughout the 2,300km reef system, but particularly in the central region between Cape Tribulation and the Whitsundays.
“The surveys confirm a mass bleaching event, with coral bleaching observed at multiple reefs in all regions,” a statement accompanying the report said. “This is the fourth mass bleaching event since 2016 and the sixth to occur on the Great Barrier Reef since 1998.” It was the first mass bleaching event recorded during a cooler La Niña year.
Scientists from the marine park authority and the Australian Institute of Marine Science surveyed 719 shallow water reefs between the Torres Strait and the Capricorn Bunker Group at the southern end of the reef system, mostly using helicopters. They found 654 reefs showed some bleaching.

How calm and collected is this dude?
I'da shit my drawers 5 times...

The unnamed passenger, who was heading home to visit his pregnant wife, was flying in the Cessna 208 Caravan from the Bahamas to Florida on Tuesday afternoon when the drama began. 'I've got a serious situation here,' the passenger can be heard telling air traffic control in Fort Pierce, while flying over the Florida coastline around 70 miles north of his destination (flight path pictured inset right). 'My pilot has gone incoherent. I have no idea how to fly the airplane.' But somehow, with the help of air traffic control, the passenger remained incredibly calm and expertly brought the Cessna into land at Palm Peach International Airport, despite never having sat behind the controls of an aircraft before.
An FAA spokesperson confirmed they were investigating the incident and said the pilot suffered a 'possible medical issue'. Palm Beach International air traffic controller Robert Morgan (inset left) printed out a layout of the cockpit, and used it to guide the passenger through the steps of flying and landing the plane. Morgan has worked as an air traffic controller for 20 years and is an FAA certified flight instructor with around 1200 hours of flying time under his belt.

Protests at the home of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh and elsewhere against the leaked Supreme Court draft on the landmark Roe v. Wade decision have "gone too far," but the White House and President Joe Biden have remained largely silent, except for a short, tweeted statement, Republican National Committee Director of Black Media Affairs Paris Dennard said on Newsmax Monday.

The most interesting thing (to me at least) about these protesters at Justice Alito's home is that not many of them look very fuckable, so I'm not seeing any pregnancy issues for 'em in the near future, and what's up with the masks? (Asking for a friend)

"It's too little, too late," Dennard said on Newsmax's "National Report." "The Supreme Court has a massive fence around it. They knew that these intimidation and harassment techniques were going to be happening with the Supreme Court justices' homes."
However, he added, "This White House sat there silent. They allowed that to happen. It's wrong, and we have yet to hear this president, from his mouth, denounce the leak itself because the leak was done to intimidate the Supreme Court justices and rally the radical, liberal pro-abortion base to do the things that we've seen this weekend."
In response to a question from a reporter, Jenn Pissantski said that the 'Biden Administration supports lawful, peaceful protests.' and refused to condemn any actions or threats of protesters at SCOTUS residences.

St. Pancras station in London, after the German air raid of 10 May 1941. A 1000 lb bomb penetrated platforms 3 and 4, went through the vaults below and damaged the Metropolitan Railway underground line running underneath the station. The station was closed for a week for repairs. After the war the roof was rebuilt and the glazing reconfigured.
The most devastating raid on London took place on the night of 10/11 May 1941, 11:02pm - 05:57am. The moon was full and the Thames had a very low ebb tide. These two combined with a maximum effort by the Germans, before they moved east to attack the Soviet Union, to produce one of the most devastating raids on the capital.
571 sorties flown by German bombers - some crews flying two and even three missions. 711 tons of high explosive bombs (167 were recorded as unexploded the next day) and 86,173 incendiaries dropped. Approx 1436 people killed and 1800 seriously injured.
The fires resulted in 700 acres of destruction - about double that of the Great Fire of London. The above picture was colorized by Royston Leonard. The below picture is how the station appears today.

Beachfront homes collapse amid heavy surf
along NC's Outer Banks

Looks like what happened in Jersey during Hurricane Sandy.
Heavy surf from the Atlantic Ocean claimed two homes along North Carolina’s Outer Banks Tuesday.
An unoccupied home in Rodanthe fell into the surf during the morning hours, according to officials with Cape Hatteras National Seashore National Park. A second unoccupied home collapsed a short time later.
And officials worry additional homes in the area may collapse as large swells continue to pound the Outer Banks due to a strong and stubborn storm system swirling offshore.
The storm’s relentless onshore winds have brought large, breaking waves of 10-15 feet, pushing ocean flood waters inland 2-4 feet above ground level, overwhelming some sand dunes and causing closures of Highway 12 along parts of the Outer Banks. Coastal Flood Warnings and High Surf Advisories remain in effect all the way into Thursday with the stalled system offshore.

Actor James Cromwell glued his 82-year-old hand to a Starbucks counter
to protest the price of plant-based milk.
A longtime animal rights activist and climate change nutjob, the Babe and Succession star reportedly orchestrated a protest with the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) at midtown Manhattan Starbucks where he glued his hand to the counter due to the coffee chain’s extra charges for non-dairy milk.
Wearing a “Free the Animals” T-shirt, Cromwell sat on the counter and read out a statement ripping Starbucks for its milk pricing. The moment was streamed on Facebook Live.
“When will you stop raking in huge profits while customers, animals and the environment suffer?” he said aloud. Cromwell then glued his hand to the counter and “later used a knife to scrape it off.” No arrests were made. You can see video of the idiot by clicking on the link:

  1. The shame is that Starbucks did not have an axe or hatchet readily available! Or a chainsaw.

And once a plane leaves the ground, it will ALWAYS land. The REAL question is whether anyone onboard will be able to walk away afterwards!
