The list of stuff I don't know is getting longer...

Like for instance, I never knew that
The Eagles didn't write 'Take it easy'.
Jackson Brown wrote it...
Didja ever wonder what that girl mighta looked like in the song?
I always wondered - until now.  I think I finally found her...

Well, I'm a standing on a corner
In Winslow, Arizona
And such a fine sight to see
It's a girl, my Lord, in a flatbed
Ford slowin' down to take a look at me
Come on, baby, don't say maybe
I gotta know if your sweet love is
Gonna save me
We may lose and we may win though
We will never be here again
So open up, I'm climbin' in -
So take it easy

A parachute display prior to a Washington Nationals game caused US Capitol Police to order an evacuation of the congressional complex on Wednesday evening, as reports swirled that the force was never told about the exercise.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi placed the blame on the Federal Aviation Administration for the mishap, saying its “apparent failure” to notify police of the flight was “outrageous and inexcusable.”
Lawmakers, Capitol staffers and journalists were sent scrambling after they received an alert at around 6:35 p.m. that said Capitol Police were tracking an aircraft posing a “probable threat” to the area. It called for the Capitol, its Visitor Center, several congressional office buildings and the US Botanic Garden to be cleared out.
However, the only aircraft in the area was a utility plane carrying members of a parachute team to take part in Military Appreciation Day festivities prior to the Nationals home game against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Yesterday was 'Military Appreciation Day'.
I should have posted this then...

This is Army Lt. Colonel William D. Swenson.
He is a Medal of Honor recipient. I honor and admire these brave men who risk and give their lives to protect my freedom. This is from his Citation:

For acts of gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of his life above and beyond the call of duty while serving as embedded advisor to the Afghan National Border Police, Task Force Phoenix, Combined Security Transition Command-Afghanistan in support of 1st Battalion, 32d Infantry Regiment, 3d Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, during combat operations against an armed enemy in Kunar Province, Afghanistan on September 8, 2009.
On that morning, more than 60 well-armed, well-positioned enemy fighters ambushed Captain Swenson's combat team as it moved on foot into the village of Ganjgal for a meeting with village elders. As the enemy unleashed a barrage of rocket-propelled grenade, mortar and machine gun fire, Captain Swenson immediately returned fire and coordinated and directed the response of his Afghan Border Police, while simultaneously calling in suppressive artillery fire and aviation support.

After the enemy effectively flanked Coalition Forces, Captain Swenson repeatedly called for smoke to cover the withdrawal of the forward elements. Surrounded on three sides by enemy forces inflicting effective and accurate fire, Captain Swenson coordinated air assets, indirect fire support and medical evacuation helicopter support to allow for the evacuation of the wounded.
Captain Swenson ignored enemy radio transmissions demanding surrender and maneuvered uncovered to render medical aid to a wounded fellow soldier. Captain Swenson stopped administering aid long enough to throw a grenade at approaching enemy forces, before assisting with moving the soldier for air evacuation. With complete disregard for his own safety, Captain Swenson unhesitatingly led a team in an unarmored vehicle into the kill zone, exposing himself to enemy fire on at least two occasions, to recover the wounded and search for four missing comrades. After using aviation support to mark locations of fallen and wounded comrades, it became clear that ground recovery of the fallen was required due to heavy enemy fire on helicopter landing zones. Captain Swenson’s team returned to the kill zone another time in a Humvee. Captain Swenson voluntarily exited the vehicle, exposing himself to enemy fire, to locate and recover three fallen Marines and one fallen Navy corpsman. His exceptional leadership and stout resistance against the enemy during six hours of continuous fighting rallied his teammates and effectively disrupted the enemy's assault.

Captain William D. Swenson's extraordinary heroism and selflessness above and beyond the call of duty are in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself, Task Force Phoenix, 1st Battalion, 32d Infantry Regiment, 3d Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division and the United States Army.

Captain Swenson: My family, my friends and I humbly
salute you and thank you for your service.

She's claiming to be a 2nd Amendment advocate and she wants stoners to carry guns - and she's a friggin' Democrat. We're all going to hell.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Florida’s lone statewide elected Democrat, Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried, plans to sue the Biden administration Wednesday to try to block a federal rule that prohibits medical marijuana users from buying guns or maintaining concealed-carry permits.
The lawsuit targets a federal form that asks whether the gun buyer is an unlawful user of drugs and specifies that marijuana is illegal under federal law. A person allowed by the state to use marijuana must then check “yes,” which results in denial of the purchase. Lying by checking “no” runs the risk of a five-year prison sentence for making a false statement.
Fried, whose office oversees concealed weapons permits and regulates some aspects of medical marijuana, argues in her lawsuit that the form violates the Second Amendment rights of lawful medical marijuana patients and runs afoul of a congressional budget prohibition on federal agents’ interfering with state-sanctioned cannabis laws.

Umbria is a truly magical region of Italy. And yes - I have walked down this very street on a night almost exactly like this. It's a sensation the likes of which you rarely ever get a chance to feel - where everything you look at is so magical you almost can't comprehend it all...

I forgot to mention - the guy I'm doing the work for is one of those guys who's deaf as a post but refuses to get hearing aids - ya know the type? So the volume on the TV was on fuckin' 11 to boot.
