This is the game I played in the street in front of the house I grew up in in Newark, New Jersey. Sewer plate was home plate and second base, Mr. Gizzo's Pontiac bumper was first, and Mr. VanHouten's Caddie bumper was third. A lot of skinned knees and great childhood memories.
At the time (early 60's) a Spalding HighBounce
(we called 'em 'Spaldines') cost around 40 cents.
