Interesting that in both places - Ukraine and Washington - soldiers are being deployed...
But it's not the first time the Russkies

of Lviv, Ukraine in the Summer of 1944.
In 1944, USSR launched the Lvov–Sandomierz Offensive to drive Nazi forces out of Soviet Ukraine & Eastern Poland. As a result, the said territories were liberated & Nazis suffered heavy losses: 32 divisions, including the Ukrainian 1st Galician SS Division, lost up to 70% of personnel.

'demilitarise' and not occupy the country. The Russian President told Ukrainian service members to 'lay down their arms and go home' as he declared war on Ukraine in an address to the nation. Putin said Russia could not exist with a 'constant threat emanating from the territory of Ukraine' as he said clashes between Russian and Ukrainian solders was 'inevitable'.
Within minutes of his public address, explosions could be heard in the capital city of Kiev as well as the city of Kramatorsk in central Ukraine. In a dark day, Putin told Russians: 'I have decided to conduct a special military operation. Russia cannot exist with a constant threat emanating from the territory of Ukraine. 'You and I have been left with no opportunity to protect our people other than the one we use today.' It comes after explosions were heard near the Ukrainian port city of Mariupol, as fears mounted that shelling is underway. Residents in the city, which is located in south eastern Ukraine, have been woken up at 3.30am this morning by blasts 30 miles from the Russian border. Video footage appeared to show clouds of smoke rising up into the night sky near Mariupol, but it was unconfirmed whether it was as a result of shelling.

So much for a spring awakening - I swear they make this shit up and call it a 'study'. There's a bunch of old guys having a 'Liar'sClub' meeting, sitting around a bar somewhere smoking stogies and gettin' fucked up and that's how they come up with this shit.
The infamous meteor that killed off the dinosaurs 66 million years ago was found to have struck Earth during the northern hemisphere’s springtime — and that understanding could lead to more profound revelations about the unknowns of the planet.
These findings, published today in the journal Nature, shed light on why some species of mammals, crocodiles, turtles, and birds, improbably survived the Cretaceous era’s extinction event, a team of European scientists from Vrije Universiteit, Uppsala University and the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility recently reported.
Researchers found that the planet’s seasonal climate might have inadvertently protected some of those prehistoric animals when the Chicxulub meteorite landed in Mexico’s Yucatan peninsula, causing apocalyptic, global tsunamis and lasting effects that wiped out the dinosaurs, forever changing the planet.

Modeled after recent trucker protests in Canada, truck drivers in the United States are planning on setting off on a massive cross-country drive towards Washington, DC to protest against coronavirus restrictions.
Organizers of the “People’s Convoy” say they want to “jumpstart the economy” and reopen the country. Their 11-day trek that is estimated to be 2,500 miles long will approach the Beltway – which encircles the Capital – on March 5 “but will not be going into DC proper”.
Separate truck convoys have been planned through online forums with names like the People’s Convoy and the American Truckers Freedom Fund – all with different starting points, departure dates and routes. Some are scheduled to arrive in time for President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address on March 1, though others may arrive afterwards.
The convoys follow the recent Canadian truckers’ protest which shut down the busiest US-Canada border crossing and besieged the streets of the capital, Ottawa, for weeks to protest against government pandemic restrictions. The multiple blockades were broken up by police last week, with more than 100 arrests.
... metaphor for the Biden Administration? Hmmmm.

A cyber report published by intelligence agencies in the UK and US on Wednesday has attributed insidious new malware to a notorious Russia-backed hacking group. The findings come amid concerns of potential Russian cyber-attacks against Ukraine as the threat of war in the region grows.
The joint research was published by the National Cyber Security Centre in the UK and US agencies including the National Security Agency. It warned that a Russian state-backed hacker group known as Sandworm had developed a new type of malware called Cyclops Blink, which targets firewall devices made by the manufacturer Watchguard to protect computers against hacks.
The sophisticated virus can withstand typical remedies including reboots, the report said. The findings come as the UK and US, allies to Ukraine, are on high alert for Russian state-sponsored hacks. The agencies added that their statement was a “routine advisory” not directly linked to the situation in Ukraine.
... Or one damn good reason at least. Gun ownership is about self-preservation. Use them for sport or hunting or whatever, self-protection is still the bottom line for having the right to own a gun.

What they're doing to this guy is inhumane. All he wanted to do was make America a better place to live for everyone, but they wouldn't let him.
One of the most aggressive criminal investigations against Donald Trump appears to be running into the sand after the two leading prosecutors in the Manhattan district attorney’s office investigating the former president’s finances resigned.
The inquiry by Manhattan prosecutors into the operations of Trump and the Trump Organization has been among the most dangerous of the many legal perils facing him. The investigation, which began in August 2018 under the former district attorney Cyrus Vance and continued under incumbent scumbag Alvin Bragg, is a political hack job that has dug ever deeper into alleged discrepancies in the value of the family’s assets in an effort to show a pattern of 'fraudulent behavior'.
According to the New York Times, the two top prosecutors on the case, Carey Dunne and Mark Pomerantz, quit the proceedings amid signs that the move on Trump is stalling as it reaches a make-or-break moment.
