I wouldn't wanna be a kid nowadays...

Not the least of which is how fucked up most of them appear to be these days...

I don't wanna sound like a stereotypical grumpy 'get off my lawn' kinda old guy, but jeez. Kids around where I live all look and act like their parents are siblings  -and if you don't know what THAT means, why are you even here?

...

If you were a graduate of Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School in Orange, Texas in June of 1970, you have some wonderful memories of the band that played at your Senior Prom. This is a picture of that band.

ZZ Top at their first paid 'professional' gig.

The dumbing down just gets stupider every day.
...

Think I'm kidding about that?

I wonder if the test comes in a braille version also.

More good news from my home town.

This is a picture of the sun setting.
On Mars.
Even 25 years ago this would have seemed impossible.
THIS is what we're capable of when we dream big enough and apply ourselves steadfastly enough...
Thank you NASA for allowing me to see that.

...

It is interesting how everybody and their friggin' brother is a corona virus genius all of a sudden, huh?

...

Even Nemo would have to agree...

At $ 149.00 for this set, this is a great deal.
See it for yourself here:

As soon as the flight restrictions and quarantine bullshit is over and the virus shit is done with, I'd like to go here for a coupla days.

Montmartre, Paris. Sooner or later.

I must have lived my whole life in a cave or something. Did YOU know they had these Jesus comic books?
...

That just about pegs the stupid meter, doesn't it?
Fuckin' idiots.

...

Sooner or later, ya gotta stop
just printing fuckin' money guys.

It isn't always the best answer.

As Congress weighs sending a second round of stimulus checks to taxpayers in the next Covid-rescue bill, the focus has been primarily on another one-time, $1,200 payment. That’s what is included in the Heals Act (Health, Economic Assistance Liability Protection & Schools Act), a $1 trillion package that Senate Republicans, led by Mitch McConnell proposed in July. However, there is also a newer Republican proposal: a one-time, $1,000 check.

Don't get me wrong - I'll take free money from anybody wants to give it to me, but in the long term, this shit is gonna cause a lot of inflation to kick in, and that same money won't be worth shit. Juss sayin'

The exact opposite of a win-win proposition, right?

Florida woman who coughed on a cancer patient at Florida Pier 1 arrested on assault charge

How much of a complete jerkoff do you have to be to do stupid shit like this chic?  A woman who deliberately coughed on someone at Pier 1 in a video that went viral was arrested for assault just over a week ago. In the video, Debra Hunter is shown at the Jacksonville Town Center store walking up to a second woman and deliberately coughing in her face.

Ya gotta love them British tabloids.

A British man has pleaded guilty in Bradford Crown Court of 11 criminal charges including performing acts of penetration on chickens, it has been revealed. Rehan Baig, 37, appeared before the judge alongside his wife, Haleema Baig, on July 31, and it’s very clear the man is extremely disturbed and needs to be behind bars.

Ever been to Little Italy in NYC?

Lombardi's Pizzeria is recognized by the Pizza Hall of Fame as the first pizzeria in the United States.

Originally started as a grocery store at 53 1/2 Spring Street in New York City, they began selling tomato pies wrapped in paper and tied with a string at lunchtime to area factory workers. Italian tenor Enrico Caruso was an early customer.

Later research revealed that Gennaro Lombardi, always thought to be the original owner, came to America in 1904 at age 17, classified as a "laboror", so if he was involved in the grocery/pizzeria, it was as an employee. Further research suggests Filippo Milone was the owner.

My own personal experience there? It wasn't the best pie I've ever had and it was four bucks for a friggin' slice.

Crash and burn, you elitist piece of shit.
Royalty my balls. Fuck him.

There'll hopefully be a day of reckoning for these fuckin' scumbags also. One can only hope.

Get this: Democrats want to scrap
 this year’s presidential debates.

Who would ever think that was a good idea?

It’s not hard to guess why.“Whatever you do,” CNN’s Joe Lockhart, who served as President Bill Clinton’s press secretary, advised Joe Biden last week, “don’t debate” President Trump.Dem strategist Zac Petkanas argues: “This is not a normal presidential election, and Trump is not a legitimate candidate” and so doesn’t deserve a debate. (Never mind that Trump won an overwhelming majority of electoral votes.)

At The New York Times, Elizabeth Drew says debates aren’t substantive. She discounts the “relevance” of the “carefully prepared one-liner” that sways viewers.

An "SOS" message written on the beach of a tiny Pacific island pointed rescuers to three missing mariners, United States and Australian authorities said Tuesday. The three men had set out in a 23-foot  boat last Thursday to make a 26-mile journey from Pulawat to Pulap atolls in the Federated States of Micronesia.

They went off course and ran out of fuel, landing on tiny, uninhabited Pikelot Island, 118 miles from their intended destination, according to US and Australian authorities. An Australian helicopter landed on tiny PIkelot Island in the Federated States of Micronesia to render aid to the three men.

Sounds like a familiar story.

Ya reaps what ya sows, baby...

Carmen Best, top right, wrote to the council Monday two days after protests at her home, left. Best said council members need to 'forcefully call for the end of these tactics'. Protesters recently also appeared outside the homes of Mayor Jenny Durkan.

Best last month spoke out against a plan to cut the police department budget by 50 per cent and reallocate the money to other community needs. Residents blocked a road into Best's neighborhood during the demonstrations. Best's letter said her neighbors 'were concerned by such a large group'.

  2. And regarding baseball and dumbing down , I'm not sure if that refers to " 7 inning doubleheaders " , the genius who couldn't figure out a logical spot to hyphenate doublehea-ders , or both !
