Pitcher Mike Bolsinger says cheating Houston Astros changed course of his career
So he's suing the team.
Is everyone in the world just a fucking pussy now? Jeez.
Is everyone in the world just a fucking pussy now? Jeez.
The Houston Astros fucked over a lot of ball players and teams in a lot of ways, but the damage they supposedly did to Mike Bolsinger – to his career and to his whole life – was particularly harsh. So the former Toronto Blue Jays pitcher wants them held accountable. Bolsinger filed a civil lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court on Monday, accusing the Astros of unfair business practices, negligence and intentional interference with contractual and economic relations.
Yes, Bolsinger is seeking unspecified damages, but they’re not all for himself. He wants the Astros to forfeit the roughly $31 million in bonuses from their ill-gotten World Series title, and for the money to go to charities in Los Angeles focused on bettering kids’ lives, as well as to create a fund for retired baseball players who need financial assistance.
Shakespeare was right.

Baseball is becoming a tedious money-grab and the're on the verge of destroying the game itself.
Have you heard about any of the proposed changes they're looking at? If they get their way, the final game of the World Series might be on Thanksgiving. Enough already.
Yankees pitchers and catchers are due to report tomorrow, when manager Aaron Boone is scheduled to give his first formal media address of 2020.
Along with providing the state of the Yankees, Boone (and his players) will be further pressed for reaction as to how the Houston Astros’ electronic sign-stealing saga might have impacted his club’s 2019 pennant chances. Reeling in Gerrit Cole may have emptied the organization’s pockets, but the right-hander is invaluable to this Yankees' starting rotation – a group that wound up as the club’s weakness down the stretch last season.
Cole instantly provides New York with one of the best hurlers in the sport – the kind of pitcher that you expect to deliver a quality start each and every time he toes the rubber. Further, his consistency and longevity will pay huge dividends for the entire pitching staff.
The right-hander has pitched more than 200 innings in each of the last three seasons, tossing six-plus innings in all but four of his 33 starts last season. By taking the ball every fifth day, Cole will ease the bullpen's workload as well.

Border agents seize bag of dead birds from a passenger traveling from China
A bag of dead birds was discovered by US Customs and Border Patrol inside a passenger’s luggage who traveled from China to Washington DC-area airport, authorities said.
The dead birds were packaged in a bag that had cartoon images of a dog and cat, US Customs said in a statement. Workers from the agency seized the birds at Dulles Airport near Washington DC on Jan. 27 from a passenger arriving from Beijing.
The passenger said the birds were cat food and he was planning to bring them to Maryland after his flight. The birds are not allowed into the United States out of fear they may spread avian flu, US Customs said.

AG Barr announces sweeping new sanctions, 'significant escalation' against left-wing sanctuary cities
Charging that so-called "sanctuary" cities that protect illegal immigrants are jeopardizing domestic security, Attorney General Bill Barr announced a slew of additional sanctions that he called a "significant escalation" against left-wing local and state governments that obstruct the "lawful functioning of our nation's immigration system."
And they're targeting New Jersey. Good.
New Jersey's Governor Murphy is learning how to spell the phrase 'I'm a scumbag'
The DOJ has now filed a federal complaint against the State of New Jersey seeking declaratory and injunctive relief "against its laws that forbid state and local law enforcement from sharing vital information about criminal aliens with DHS," Barr said.
That was a reference to New Jersey Attorney General Law Enforcement Directive 2018-6, which the DOJ says illegally bars officials from sharing the immigration status and release dates of individuals in custody. It also requires New Jersey law enforcement to “promptly notify a detained individual, in writing and in a language the individual can understand” if Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) files an immigration detainer request for the individual.

New Spacecraft - the SOLAR ORBITER - Seeks to Capture First Pictures of the Sun’s Poles
This is exciting shit, but do you hear anything about it on the news - anywhere?
A new space mission is seeking to study the sun more closely than ever before.
The mission involves a spacecraft called the Solar Orbiter, a joint project between the U.S. space agency NASA and the European Space Agency (ESA).
The Solar Orbiter launched Sunday from Florida’s Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. An Atlas V rocket built by U.S.-based United Launch Alliance carried it into space.
The spacecraft contains powerful telescopes and instruments to measure solar magnetism, radio waves, particles and radiation.
