Free money? It's gonna happen...

...

I've had a SLIGHT change of heart about the 'reward' for the hundreth follower thing.

I said originally that I would give $ 100 bucks to the 100th follower,  but I've had some insightful 2nd, 3rd and 4th thoughts about that.

I'm gonna amend that so that it's much more fair for you guys that signed on early and are making this blog what it is.

A number of followers have jumped on board recently, and I am truly grateful, BUT. We're getting quite a few anonymous followers for some reason.

So, here's the change-up:

I gonna give ONE HUNDRED BUCKS to a follower I'll draw at Random
when we get to 100 followers!

Thing is though, if you're anonymous, how can I send you the dough, right?

WUDDA YOU GUYS THINK ABOUT THIS? Leave a comment and let me know...

The bases are loaded with Yankees on this year's Hall of Fame ballot...

Thurman Munson played for 11 seasons with the Yankees, winning the American League Rookie of the Year Award in 1970 and the American League Most Valuable Player Award in 1976. A seven-time All-Star and three-time Gold Glove Award winner, Munson is one of only two catchers in history with three consecutive seasons with a .300 batting average, 180 hits and 100 RBI. He led the Yankees to three American League pennants and two World Series titles before dying in a private plane crash during the 1979 season.

Don Mattingly played 14 seasons for the Yankees, batting .307 with 222 home runs and 2,153 hits. A six-time All-Star and nine-time Gold Glove Award winner at first base, Mattingly led the American League in total bases in both 1985 and 1986, won the 1984 AL batting title, captured three Silver Slugger Awards and was named the 1985 AL Most Valuable Player. He led the AL in doubles three times and in fielding percentage seven times. In 1987, he tied Dale Long’s major league record by homering in eight straight games.

He also has maybe the coolest nickname in all of baseball.

Tommy John pitched 26 seasons for the Indians, White Sox, Dodgers, Yankees, Angels and A’s, finishing his career after the 1989 season with a record of 288-231 and 3.34 ERA. His 700 career starts rank eighth on the all-time list and his 4,710.1 innings rank 20th all-time. A four-time All-Star and two-time runner-up in his league’s Cy Young Award voting, John injured his ulna collateral ligament during the 1974 season, then underwent what is now known as Tommy John Surgery – a ground-breaking procedure that replaced the torn ligament with a tendon. John returned to the big leagues in 1976 and pitched 14 seasons after the surgery, winning 20-or-more games three times in those seasons.

It pays to be a Major Leaguer...

Ya get to hang with babes like these.

Personally, I have hated this guy for a long time. Now... jeez.

Sports Illustrated’s 2017 cover girl Kate Upton and her fiancé — pitcher Justin Verlander — are the reigning power couple of Major League Baseball. And no WAG is more loyal than the 24-year-old bombshell: After Verlander, 34, was snubbed for the Cy Young Award last November, she tweeted at the league, “I thought I was the only person allowed to f–k @JustinVerlander . . . ”

The pair, who bought a $5.25 million Beverly Hills home in December and have a boxer named Harley, reportedly met on a photo shoot in late 2011 and were engaged last May after dating for three years. While there is no wedding date yet, their game-day rules are well in place.

“There’s no sex before a game,” Upton said on “Watch What Happens Live” in February. “Absolutely none. And then, also what I just found out is, if he plays too well, there’s no sex after, either.”

This poor bastard got shitcanned just for getting some.

Workplace couples are often romanticized — think Bill and Melinda Gates or Michelle and Barack Obama. But when the relationship involves two people with unequal power, it can also be fraught with peril, especially in the #MeToo era.

McDonald’s CEO Steve Easterbrook is only the latest chief executive to be ousted over a consensual relationship with an employee. Increasingly, U.S. companies are adopting policies addressing workplace romances, a trend that began well before the #MeToo movement galvanized a national conversation surrounding sexual misconduct. There are questions about whether consent is truly possible when the power imbalance is especially great. Many women who have come forward to share their #MeToo stories have said that they feared the consequences of saying no to a powerful person who could influence their careers.

“That power difference can create a dynamic where the relationship can never truly be consensual,” said Debra Katz, a founder partner of the law firm Katz Marshall & Banks who has represented women in several prominent sexual harassment cases. “The #MeToo movement has shown how quickly it can go from consensual in the beginning to a huge problem when the relationship goes awry.”

Easterbrook’s departure comes as McDonald’s steps up its efforts to stop sexual harassment after dozens of employee complaints. Over the last three years, more than 50 McDonald’s employees have filed cases alleging sexual harassment with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission or in state courts, according to Fight for $15, a labor advocacy group.

In August, the hamburger chain unveiled a program to teach its 850,000 U.S. employees how to recognize and report harassment and bullying. Franchisees — who own 95% of McDonald’s 14,000 U.S. restaurants — aren’t required to offer the training, but the company expects them to provide it.

McDonald’s said Easterbrook violated company policy forbidding managers from having romantic relationships with direct or indirect subordinates. In an email to employees, Easterbrook said the relationship was a mistake and he agreed “it is time for me to move on.”

Speaking of fast food, be cool at Popeye's.

A man was stabbed to death Monday at a Maryland Popeyes after what appears to have been an argument over the restaurant's re-released chicken sandwich, police said.

The victim, a 28-year-old man, was stabbed outside the restaurant around 7p.m., Prince George's County Police spokeswoman Jennifer Donelan said at a news conference Monday. He had been in line for a chicken sandwich when he and another man got into an argument, which spilled onto the street, Donelan said. Police believe the argument began over someone cutting in line.
"For you to get that angry over anything ... and to develop into this type of violence, again, is a very sad and tragic day," Donelan said.

Officers who arrived on the scene applied lifesaving measures until the man was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Donelan said.
Police are still looking for the suspect. Donelan asked the suspect and people who were in restaurant at the time to reach out to detectives.
