Couple orders oysters on the half shell at New Jersey restaurant, finds 'once-in-a-lifetime' pearl

A couple dining at a New Jersey restaurant recently made an extremely rare find while partaking in a plate of oysters.

Anton and Sheryl Schermer, of Tenafly, N.J., were in the middle of dinner on Saturday evening when Anton detected something hard “rolling around in his mouth,” according to the Stern & Bow restaurant in the town of Closter, where they were eating. He then spit out the object, only to find it was a tiny pearl.

An employee with the Empire Oyster service, which sources and serves oysters at Stern & Bow, said it was an extremely rare find — especially for the type of oyster Anton was eating, which came from Washington State.

“I’ve shucked hundreds of thousands of oysters in my career and have never found a pearl while shucking,” said Kevin Joseph of Empire Oyster. “Although rare, I’ve heard of pearls discovered in warm water Gulf oysters but never, ever have I heard of a pearl found in a cold water [Taylor Kumamoto oyster]. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime event.”

The moron gave the pearl to the Restaurant owner who said he'd 'frame it as a souvenir'. HUH?

Couldn't happen in a better place to more deserving people:
For California, massive power blackouts could become a way of life. I couldn't be happier.

An electric worker handles power lines in South Gate in Los Angeles County, California, on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2019. Southern California Edison says it's monitoring more than 300,000 customers for a potential fire-safety power shutoff that could begin Thursday.

Hug another tree idiots.

N.J. family claims funeral home put the wrong body in casket!

A Paterson, NJ family says that a family tragedy was made even worse when a funeral home mixed up the body of their loved one.

Doris Chapman passed away earlier this month. Her family says that when they went to say a private goodbye the day before the funeral, it wasn't Doris that they saw. They also claim that the people at Bragg Funeral Home didn’t believe them. "The family is very devastated. The family is very traumatized. Why? Because we knew that that lady that was sitting before our eyes in the coffin the night before was not our grandmother,” says Geralyn McNeal.

The family says that when they had their private viewing, the person in the coffin was wearing Chapman’s clothing, but they say that it was not her. The family says that no matter how many times they told the works that the body was not Chapman’s, they were told otherwise. "They kept on insisting that was my grandmother, that things do happen, the body does change…we couldn’t believe it, but we had no choice but to believe it for the moment,” McNeal says.

“We thought that the funeral home knew best. They were telling us that she was not ready, ‘She won't look like this when we're done,’” says Chapman’s niece Valencia Coney. The family says that Chapman’s body was in the casket the next day for the service. They say that at least one funeral home employee admitted to the mistake.

They say that they want answers to how this happened and an apology. "We're still traumatized. We want to know. We want to know how that mistake came about, although mistakes do happen, we still want to know how that mistake came about,” McNeal says.

The family says that they plan to sue Bragg Funeral Home, hoping to prevent another family from having to go through the same experience. A representative from Bragg Funeral Home did not wish to comment on this incident.

To prevent another family from having to go through the same experience? Are you friggin' kiddin' me?

Money-grubbin' scumbags.

Did I say that?

The Pagan’s Motorcycle Club, under the command of a new national president, is undergoing a major expansion in New Jersey.

In this pic the boys are seen strolling the Asbury Park boardwalk on a bright sunny summer day.

These guys are seriously bad dudes.

The Pagan’s Motorcycle Club, under the command of a new national president, is undergoing a major expansion in New Jersey. There is an increase in violent clashes between the Pagans and rival motorcycle clubs.
Those were the alarming takeaways from a public hearing held Wednesday by the State Commission of Investigation, an independent state watchdog formed in the late 1960s to investigate public corruption and organized crime.
Pagan mascots go thru vigorous training before they can don the colors of the club. Here we see a potential club mascot training with NJ State Police cadets.
