Don't EVER bet against The Tiger...
When Tiger Woods won his fifth green jacket Sunday, he claimed a purse of just over Two Million Dollars. An impressive amount to be sure, but I like this little back story more.
At least one Las Vegas bettor feels like a million bucks. Literally. A William Hill (that's a sports book) gambler on Tuesday placed an $85,000 bet to win $1.19 million on Woods to capture the Masters at 14-1 odds. The wager represents the largest liability for an individual golf wager in William Hill’s U.S. history. “It’s going to make a great tournament even more interesting, if that’s even possible,” William Hill sportsbook director Nick Bogdanovich said on Wednesday.
As of last night the 'gambler' has not yet claimed his winnings.
I figure somebody knew something about something, but hey - it's still a cool story...
Woods hasn’t won the Masters since 2005, and his win in the Tour Championship in September was his first victory in more than five years.
Even the President thought it was pretty cool.
How did Tiger feel? I've NEVER felt like this:
Damn it Joe!!!
