MIAMI — Rapper SpotemGottem was arrested and is facing several charges after Miami police said he led officers on a chase while on a jet ski.
SpotemGottem, whose real name is Nehemiah Harden, is charged with the reckless operation of a boat and fleeing law enforcement officers, according to online jail records.
Miami police patrolling the area near Miami Marine Stadium saw Harden speeding on a jet ski and tried to pull him over.
In an arrest affidavit obtained by WFLA, police said that Harden was in a restricted speed zone on the jet ski and was doing “S” turns near anchored boats. Officers said they got Harden’s attention and called to him for a traffic stop, but Harden instead accelerated and began swerving through boats and swimmers. Despite speeding away, officers said they eventually caught up to Harden and placed him under arrest.
Harden was previously arrested in Aventura, Florida, in July 2021 on charges that he threatened a parking garage attendant with a gun, as we reported at the time. The dispute was allegedly over a parking fee, and police said that when Harden was arrested he was found lying in bed with a gun.

Popular video sharing app TikTok is a wolf in “sheep’s clothing”
that should be removed from the Apple and Google app stores, FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr said in an open letter on Tuesday.
Carr, the Federal Communications Commission’s senior Republican member, called for the ban in a letter dated June 24 and addressed to Apple CEO Tim Cook and Google CEO Sundar Pichai.
Carr’s letter made heavy reference to a recent report detailing leaked audio from internal meetings among American TikTok employees revealing that China-based employees of parent company ByteDance had regular and sweeping access to nonpublic US user data.
Carr likened TikTok’s video- and meme-sharing features to “sheep’s clothing” meant to distract from questionable privacy practices.
“At its core, TikTok functions as a sophisticated surveillance tool that harvests extensive amounts of personal and sensitive data,” Carr wrote. “Indeed, TikTok collects everything from search and browsing histories to keystroke patterns and biometric identifiers, including faceprints…and voiceprints.”
“It is clear that TikTok poses an unacceptable national security risk due to its extensive data harvesting being combined with Beijing’s apparently unchecked access to that sensitive data,” Carr wrote in the letter, which was posted to his Twitter account.
“Therefore, I am requesting that you apply the plain text of
your app store policies to TikTok and remove it from your app
stores for failure to abide by those terms,” Carr added.

The Facebook 'Oversight Board', colloquially known as the “Facebook Supreme Court,” received more than a million appeals from Facebook and Instagram users hoping to overturn censorship by the company, according to the Board’s first annual report.
The report, which reveals the extent of censorship on the platform, was published last week. The Board acknowledged that the million-plus figure represented an “enormous pent-up demand” for the ability to appeal censorship decisions by Facebook and Facebook-owned Instagram.

One of Elvis' houses you could actually afford to buy...
Elvis Presley’s childhood home in Tupelo, Mississippi — which was left abandoned and, at one point, was expected to be torn down — is set to hit the auction block in August.
This is the only childhood home of the King of Rock and Roll that has ever come to market. The starting auction price will be set between $30,000 to $50,000.
The three-bedroom, 1,260-square-foot home, which once held the address 605 Kelly Street in East Tupelo, first went up for auction in 2020. But despite having interested parties, due to the timing of the raging coronavirus pandemic, it was unable to score any buyers.
Later the address changed to 1241 Kelly St. and was where Elvis and his parents, Vernon and Gladys Presley, lived from 1943 to 1944. The residence was just around the corner from the home in which Elvis was born.
Meanwhile, Presley’s birth home in Tupelo remains a historic museum site open to the public, along with Graceland - his longtime home in Memphis, Tennessee, that he lived in with his parents throughout his life as his career skyrocketed.
“The house itself has been dismantled and taken apart meticulously, so it can be put back together. It is being stored in a trailer,” Jeff Marren, owner Rockhurst Auctions said. The company is set to hold the auction on Aug. 14 down in Memphis during the city’s Elvis Week 2022 celebration.
“So when someone buys the house, they’re going to get the whole trailer and the designs for putting back together,” Marren said of the project. “Whoever buys it can actually hire the person who took it apart to put it back together for them. “They can then move it where ever they’d like to,” he added.
Currently the house is stored in Mississippi, and only the original parts of the home that existed when the Presleys lived there were kept, according to Marren.
Personally, I've had just about all the Elvis I need for this lifetime and maybe a couple more. Juss' sayin'...

Dr. Anthony Fauci has confirmed that he is suffering from 'rebound symptoms' of Covid-19 and is being treated with a second round of Paxlovid, Pfizer's new drug in the fight against the virus. However, according to recent data from the pharma giant, the drug is limited in its abilities to fight Covid-19 in a vaccinated person. Fauci said at a conference that he's on his second course of the drug after testing positive, then negative, then positive again.

Forty-eight percent of young Democrat voters said in a May Monmouth University poll that they were basing their vote on candidates' positions on abortion rights...
The biggest problem that all candidates will have to address in November is that these young voters are primarily 'single issue voters', meaning they will decide for or against any candidate based one one single item, like abortion or whether or not they like what you tweet.
For decades, the contentious issue of abortion rights has motivated American voters from both parties. The U.S. Supreme Court's decision last week to overturn the 1973 decision guaranteeing women a constitutional right to abortion could have a defining impact on upcoming congressional midterm elections, when Democrats attempt to hold on to their narrow edge in the U.S. House and Senate.
Midterm elections traditionally do not drive young voter turnout in the same numbers as presidential elections. But recent polling suggests the overturn of the nearly 50-year-old law could motivate young voters to get more involved.
A May poll from American news network CBS found that 40% of younger (under 30) voters said they would be more likely to vote - and vote Democrat - if Roe v. Wade was overturned.
It's vitally important that all candidates - in all parties and in all elections - remember these young voters, and the effect they can have on any election. They were pivotal in Biden's victory, and if they're not totally disillusioned, can upset the apple cart going forward.
