College football has lost any credibility it used to have...
The under-the-table shit from boosters and sponsors was once looked at as hsady doings and kids lost their scholarship over accusations. Now, the collegs are paying teenagers millions of dollars just to play football. Teenagers. Football. Millions of dollars.
'True freshman' quarterback Bryce Underwood has been given the nod as Michigan's starter this year. Underwood, who joined Michigan on a $12.5 million NIL deal, was announced as Michigan's started by head coach Sherrone Moore on Monday. "He’s earned the opportunity," Moore said. "It was not given to him. He took ownership of the team."
What an incredible bunch of shit coming from the coach. Sherrone Moore signed a five-year, $27.5 million contract with Michigan, earning a $5.5 million base salary in 2024 that increases by 2% annually. In addition to the base pay, he is eligible for a $500,000 'retention bonus' each year and up to $3.5 million in performance-based incentives for winning championships.

Baby, it's (gonna be) cold outside...
The Old Farmer's Almanac has predicted what's in store for each state this winter. The publication, which claims to be the longest running published periodical in the country, released its 2025-2026 U.S. Winter Weather Forecast on Sunday - revealing mild, dry and cold conditions for states across the country this upcoming season.
The Old Farmer's Almanac, first released in 1792, found that Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut are expected to have a mild and dry winter. California, Alaska, Hawaii, Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan, the Dakotas, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana and Arkansas are also in for similar conditions, the publication found.
Meanwhile, Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, New Jersey, Maryland, New York, Missouri, Delaware and a majority of Montana could experience mild and dry winter season. Other states, including Idaho, Nevada, Utah, and Colorado are in for a mild but wet season.
Florida, my State, known for its heat and sunshine, is the only state
expected to be hit with a cold and wet winter. Great. Just great.
I never knew who Aaron Lewis is, but boy do I agree with him...
Aaron Lewis on Bruce Springsteen: "I think that he is a disgusting display of not appreciating what was handed to him, in this country as being an American, the success that he has had,” Lewis said. “The fact that he duped us all with one of the most anti-American songs ever and called it 'Born in the USA' as some sort of celebration of how great it is to be born in the USA. I'm angry at myself for not seeing it for so long and actually giving him, in my mind, the credit of being a representation of blue-collar America."
He continued: "I think that he has forgotten where he came from. I think that if you're not careful doing this, this career that that me and him have both been so blessed to have had, if you're not careful, it will consume you. And it's obvious that it creates a situation where you've lost sight of the reality of the country that you live in because you've lived such a cush… you have so much that it's really easy to take a stance that is so anti everything that you were lucky enough to have, lucky enough to create, lucky enough to change your situation in life. And, he's just lost touch with the struggles. He's lost touch with the struggle."

The first kick I took was when I hit the ground
End up like a dog that's been beat too much
'Til you spend half your life just to cover it up now

Got in a little hometown jam
So they put a rifle in my hands
Send me off to a foreign land
To go and kill the yellow man
-
Come back home to the refinery
Hiring man said, "Son, if it was up to me"
Went down to see my V.A. man
He said, "Son, don't you understand, now?"
Oh, yeah
-
I had a brother at Khe Sanh
Fightin' off them Viet Cong
They're still there, he's all gone
He had a woman he loved in Saigon
I got a picture of him in her arms now
Down in the shadow of the penitentiary
Out by the gas fires of the refinery
I'm ten years burnin' down the road
Nowhere to run, ain't got nowhere to go
Not exactly the patriotic, up with America kinda song, is it.

Why do they call it a 'war on woke' when the 'woke' shit is just plain virtue signalling?
The 'saga' (don'tcha love that word?) began with the state moving in the dead of night to paint over a rainbow-colored crosswalk outside Orlando’s former Pulse nightclub, where 49 people were killed in a 2016 shooting. The city’s mayor, Buddy Dyer, called the erasure of the memorial to the mostly LGBTQ+ victims “a cruel political act”.
This particular crosswalk has now been painted - and repainted - and painted again - four different times, because there's no better way to honor all those gays who got murdered than to have people walk all over a painted street crosswalk. Really?
Since then, DeSantis’s 'crosswalk wars' have spread across Florida. The governor has ordered the removal of about 400 “non-standard” pieces of street art, even though they all received state approval as a condition of installation. A growing number of municipalities has pledged to fight him.

We all understand that prices rarely go down unless it's a specific promotion like the Amazon one this Labor Day weekend, but lately the price of everything is scary...
Waffle House may be a Southern institution known for its 24/7 breakfasts, scattered hash browns, and viral fights, but these days, it's your wallet taking the hit. One Reddit user kicked off a post by asking, "Moved back South and Waffle House seems comically expensive compared to old prices?" They recalled the All-Star Special being around $8 just a few years ago. Now? Nearly $13 in some areas. The pricing can be the result of the restaurant's egg surcharges. A user who chimed in from Mississippi noted, "An order of eggs is now $3.60. I used to get biscuits, gravy, and two eggs for $5–$6. Now it's right under $12 for the same thing.
So, why bother mentioning this? Because ain't nuthin' costs what it usta cost, and it probably ain't gonna cost that again, so grin and bare it, Bubba...

Cracker Barrel has long been a go-to for reasonably-priced road trip breakfasts and front porch nostalgia, though the chain is slowly shedding the cozy charm that made it famous. And it's getting pricey.
It isn't cheap any more, by any measure. For a simple breakfast, two orders of Momma's Pancake Breakfast (a popular choice) would be around $25-$30, and that's excluding drinks and tips.

The photographer Edouard Boubat titled this shot 'The cabaret dancer' Taken back in the 1950s, it still resonates a mood. The original was B&W, but I think this colorized version is more impactfull. Were it taken today, she'd be staring at her phone instead of reading a novel.

A lottery jackpot paid to an individual is taxable as unearned income. The cash prize, already reduced, would then be subject to the highest federal income tax bracket of 37%.Federal tax owed: Approximately $220.89 billion.
If you live in a high income tax state like California or New York, that would shave an additional $ 80,000,000 or so, so you walk with just under 300mil. Juss' sayin'...

Saying stupid shit like this somehow diminishes what she might have actually wanted to say. Making the parallel between the two is stupid. The kid shooter wasn't a Muslim. He was a confused, fucked up crossdresser who's parents obviously did a really fucked up job of raising him/her/she/whateverthefuck.

Watch your back, Kamala. The Secret Service isn't doing it anymore...
Former Vice President Kamala Harris will receive protection from the California Highway Patrol after President Trump revoked her Secret Service protection, law enforcement sources said Friday. California officials put in place a plan to provide Harris with dignitary protection after Trump ended an arrangement that gave his opponent in last year’s election extended Secret Service security coverage.
Trump signed a memorandum on Thursday ending Harris’ protection as of Monday, according to sources not authorized to discuss the security matter. Former vice presidents usually get Secret Service protection for six months after leaving office, while ex-presidents get protection for life. But before his term ended, then-President Biden signed an order to extend Harris’ protection beyond six months to July 2026. Aides to Harris had asked Biden for the extension. Without it, her security detail would have ended last month.
The curtailing of Secret Service protection comes as Harris is about to begin a book tour for her memoir, titled “107 Days.” The tour has 15 stops, which include visits to London and Toronto. The book title references the short length of her presidential campaign. The tour begins next month.
