If data is changable enough that it can cater to specific groups, where are you in the equation?

First and foremost they mighta tried telling us why it was called gulf of Mexico in the first place, but that's a story for another day. The point I'm trying to make is the ubiquitousness of Google searches and mapping and how it's become such an integral part of our every day lives.
If the people at Google can change a name - or a fact for that matter - on a whim and call it different things to different people, where does that road lead us? I personally don't know, but I think that road's on a pretty slippery slope. Juss' sayin'...

I have a number of black friends and almost to a person they agree (with one hold-out originally from Detroit) who all agree that saying there is a 'Black National Anthem' is bullshit. It should be an insult to all of us that one segment of our diverse and polyglot population decrees that it should have it's own anthem, different and seperate from our collective National Anthem. Even these friends agree that it is an example of pandering at it's worst.

One of my all time favorite movies with one glaringly insane flaw -
Mickey Rooney as Mr. Yunioshi, the Japanese upstairs neighbor.

Hamas fighters in Gaza girding their loins for another pissing contest with the Jews they detest so much they're willing to die to prove it. What a sad, fucked up way to live a life - filled with so much hatred.

This is a real bar not terribly far from my house - it's the Alafia River Beer Shed.
If you don't like bars like this me and you can't be friends, sorry.
There's a fairly well-produced video 'review' of the place here on Instagram...

  1. I apologize that this is a hotel-sponsored article but I avoid Wiki when possible:

But have you ever wondered how the Gulf of Mexico got its name? The story behind its naming spans centuries, weaving together indigenous influences, European exploration, and linguistic evolution. In this blog, we’ll dive into the rich history and origins of the name “Gulf of Mexico,” shedding light on its etymology and the remarkable cultural narratives that surround it."

  3. Heading up into the 12-24" of snow area in California this weekend. Just started up one of the snowmobiles and I'm ready for some riding! I went to Florida last summer. A friend who live there asked when I'm moving there. Just told him it's too flat and my chances of having a good time in the snow are extremely limited.

  4. Mickey Rooney as Japo-knee isn't as miscast as John Wayne as Genghis Khan in "The Conqueror."

  5. AI is the new Google search, with a bias built in to shape opinion. We're in a race to dismantle the propaganda machine bofore 2/3 of the population are irretrievably both misinformed and incapable of critical thinking
