NYC back in the day when WWII started...

 
An Italian spaghetti house and a German health food store next to each other on 86th St. in New York, Jan. 22, 1942. You could get spaghettis or ravioli dinners for twenty cents. It's my understanding the Germans closed shop when we entered the war with Germany...

  1. The U.S. was also at war with Mussolini's Italy, until Mussolini was deposed and Italy switched sides in 1943.

  2. Germans were ahead of their time with food for diabetics. It's a multi-billion dollar market now.
