There are more than a few reasons why this constitional amendment failed the way it did. It was well known that 'Big Weed' was strategically behind this move that would have created a monopoly for only one or two companies to produce the devil's weed. Big Weed plowed over $ 150,000,000.00 in to promoting this, and it wasn't enough to garner the 60% approval required to change the State's constitution.
Another BIG problem with it is that it would not allow us to grow our own, as it is in opther states that have recreational marijuana. OIt also did not limit where you could smoke it, so, theoreticaly youcould smoke a spilf outside a nursery school while the kids are filing out. A major over sight on their part.
Personally, I'm glad it didn't pass as is. Re-craft it properly and I'd be a-okay with it. Juss' sayin'...
I live in Colorado. The result of the insane recreational marijuana laws is really bad. Hopefully Mr. Trump will cease the insanity and reverse ALL legalization laws everywhere.
ReplyDeleteWe spend a week or so in Colorado each year. You can never seem to get away from the smell.
