The final three guillotinings in France before its abolition were those of child-murderers Christian Ranucci (on July 28, 1976) in Marseille, Jérôme Carrein (on June 23, 1977) in Douai and torturer-murderer Hamida Djandoubi (on September 10, 1977) in Marseille.

But ... but ... but the death penalty is "mean" and "cruel"!!! Don't we need to coddle criminals? Can't we simply rehab them and have them be an integral part of society?
