Estimates range from 150,000 to 230,000 former northeast residents have flocked to The Sunshine State since the start of the pandemic, and local residents (like me) are concerned that they'll bring their bullshit liberal politics with them, but that may not be the case. State records show that, in the last five years alone, there is now a 588,000 person increase in the number of registered Republicans over Demorats in Florida.
One can only hope. The real numbers are here.
we have the same problem here in the hills of pa. a lot of newer out of state plates seen in town. one good thing is a good hard winter makes most of them leave. the clowns sell their home in NY or NJ and get one here for half the price.
ReplyDeleteit all good until the temps drops below 10 for a week or so, and they freak out. by summer they gone to your state ( sorry about that bit) but it not something we can control either.
Conservative voters always move first, and when the liberals start seeing what happens when the taxpayers leave they (ones that pay taxes) follow. Freeloader types will move to states that pay more in benefits and have a nicer climate for living in the street.
ReplyDeleteAnd I read an article about people moving to Alabama from Florida because it's getting too expensive for them. Left SC because of the crowds of invaders & the rising prices. Guess it's time to move farther out.
ReplyDeleteDon't bring your politics?
ReplyDeleteDemocrats will NEVER be able to admit that it is their VOTING that screwed everything up, so they'll continue and continue and continue voting for same same same..... "We're leaving Kalifornia because it is such a mess......., not because we voted for it".
I (had) friends until Trump was convicted of 300 thousand counts in NY here in Florida. They are hard core, rich idiots. I have know them for 20 years. They bought a second home on Sanibel and I live in Fort Myers. They always talk down about people who are not rich, don't live in an upscale neighborhood. They hate our governor yet reap the no state tax that this once paradise offers. They do not eat leftovers and never complain about prices. Pricks that have way too much money to care about anyone else. So I quit that night, never to return to their home. Friends reached out to find out why, I never told them. Sad part is, my "friends"? They have never tried to contact me to ask why I will never come back. But they know, they are chicken to hear the truth. So they are out there, the rich that don't care until it hits their pocketbook. Unfortunately, I believe that is coming...
