At first, I thought it was ABBA...

This is The band Sweet on the cover of Germany's Bravo magazine back in 1974. I wonder, if any of these guys are dead )at least one I know of is), they must be spinning in their graves seeing what they wore back then. '74 wasn't so long after all the long-hair hippy shit. I think it must have been the disco/Bowie influence, but jeezzzzzz. I always thought the lead singer was a chick. I always hated this fuckin' song.

  2. I can see why you didn't like that song.

  3. You might find this amusing https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_McManus if you compare Brian Connolly, the lead singer and Mark McManus, the actor who played Taggert and was described as having a face 'like a well lived-in brown paper bag'.

  4. That reminds me of the cover for The Edgar Winter Group, Shock Treatment 1974. Not as bad though. Better music too.

  5. The music Genre was called "Glam Rock". Yes Bowie and others like KISS were into the look. The sound tended to vary among the different bands. "Little Willie" was a descent Sweet song and later "Fox on the Run." The singer and drummer are both dead. The other two keep the band going as some kind of nostalgia act.
