Where are your grandkids gonna live when all they afford is a dog house?

Economists are saying that the average 30-year-old couple with no kids
need to make a combined $ 150,000.00 a year to be able to buy the most affordable first homes. Zillow reports that the U.S. has a record-high 550 “million-dollar” cities — cities where the typical home is worth $1 million or more — new Zillow data shows. That is 59 more million-dollar cities than a year ago, reversing losses from when home values were wobbling this time last year.
Affordability is still a big challenge - especially for young buyers, but that hasn’t stopped home values from climbing. The housing market is tight with few homes available, and competition is still high for attractive homes. That competitive pressure is pushing home values higher across the U.S.
Back in 1979, I bought my first house - a two-family fixer-upper in West Orange, NJ for $ 34,000.00, selling it six years later for just under 70k.
Zillow says that house would now sell for around $ 519,000.00.

Here we are again with that ole' 'Goose and gander' thing all over again. The guy's a fuckin' elitist.
Gavin Newsom is facing backlash after a restaurant he partially owns posted
a job listing for $16 an hour when a new state law is forcing fast food eateries to pay their employees $20 an hour.
PlumpJack Cafe in Olympic Valley – which is among a group of eateries owned by a company Newsom founded in 1992 – is hiring a part-time busser who “will aim to assist the food server … to ensure guest satisfaction during all aspects of the dining experience,” according to a ZipRecruiter posting. The job listing states the salary for the busser is $16 an hour plus tips.
But a food service worker would make more working at a McDonald’s than at the high-end restaurant and bar thanks to the new $20 fast food minimum wage that went into effect Monday.

That fundraiser that Uncle Joe and his buddies had at Radio City last week?
This is how the Washington Free Beacon reported on it. That's a petty cool website if you've never seen it. It's here: https://freebeacon.com

This guy probably made this himself. I don't get mail delivery
to my house or I sure as fuck would have something just
like this. Shit - I may still get one just for the fuck of it.
Give the neighbors something to talk about...

Thieves in Los Angeles pulled off one of the largest cash
heists in city history over the weekend, stealing as much as $30m from a money storage facility on Easter Sunday. The break-in unfolded at an unnamed facility in the Sylmar area of the San Fernando Valley that handles and stores cash from businesses across the region. Burglars were able to enter without immediate detection and breached a safe.
How long do you think it'll take for this to be a Netflix movie? I'd say they'r probably writing script drafts as we speak...

Another one for the 'They don't make 'em like they usta' file. Good, simple, to-the-point advertising with a good layout and good artwork.
That pile is for the advertising style as well as the car's style. I come from a print-advertising background and I can't begin to tell you just how terrible most print ads are these days. I often wonder exactly who the fuck these marketers are trying to talk to, because it sure as fuck ain't me and you. Juss' sayin'...

  2. My first home was a brand new 3 br 1.5 bth single car garage in 1975 for 28,500.00....I remember the 260 dollar payment liked to killed me...it took me 9 months to qualify for that damn house....at 8% plus .5 for FHA insurance....interest rates weren't always low....'68 was a good year for Ford, as were those to follow through '74....I had a '74 Galaxy 500....beautiful car, though I thought 68 was a better looking car.....I couldn't afford a '68, as I was just graduating from high school...

  3. Older people are more serene because we realize in just a few more years we will be 6 feet under and all problems will no longer be our problem. There is great serenity in saying "not my problem" and letting it go.

  4. I couldn't count how many times I have seen TV ads that left me with no idea what they were trying to sell.
