Where'd you come from?

I'm always curious to see where our readers come here
from, and I'm seeing a great trend...

I know quite a few of you come from links on other blogs that you read, but I'm seeing more and more of you coming directly here in your browsers, as if you have this bookmarked, If that is the case, then I'm prouder'na fuckin' peacock that you'd think that much of what I do here. Here's a small sample of where are visitors are and how they get here.

West Virginia stands first among the unhealthiest states in the US, with high rates of obesity and type-2 diabetes. Lack of access to healthy food and low physical activity contribute to the problem. Many residents rate their health as fair or poor, particularly those aged 55-64, with low education and income below $15,000 annually.

TheGuardian.com reported today that in less than 24 hours, a guy named Jason Palmer went from being a relatively unknown Baltimore businessman, to toppling a sitting president in a US primary caucus. Since then he’s been featured in newspaper profiles, been interviewed on major news networks – and found himself the subject of internet memes across the world.
Joe Biden’s campaign team may have expected to win every Democratic contest on Super Tuesday – but if so, they didn’t account for American Samoa. Of the 91 ballots cast in the territory’s caucus, Palmer won 51, while Biden received 40.
With fewer than 50,000 residents, the tiny collection of islands in the South Pacific – more than 11,000km from Washington DC - accounts for only six of the 1,968 delegates needed to secure the Democratic party nomination – but Palmer’s victory will ensure him three of them, denying Biden a clean sweep.

Looking for some early summer travel ideas? How about this one - every year in mid-June, Castrillo de Murcia is far from your average place. The tiny hamlet, nestled at the bottom of the Cantabrian mountains in northern Spain, bursts into life with one of the strangest festivals in the world: El Colacho (“The Devil”).
No one seems to know precisely when the local people began El Colacho, a traditional ceremony that involves not only the aforementioned running and whipping but, most famously, a section in which the “devils” leap over tiny babies laid out on mattresses in the streets.

Those driving an electric vehicle might have to pay a new annual fee, under a new bill introduced in Trenton that seeks to prevent shortfalls in the state's road infrastructure funding.
If approved, the new measure will go into effect in July 'asking' electric vehicle owners to pay a $250 fee in the following fiscal year. After that, the fee would increase by $10 annually until reaching $290 by the end of the next five-year period.
The legislative measure is part of a state plan that wants to keep the New Jersey Transportation Trust Fund adequately replenished.

  3. I'm here from NE and have, indeed, bookmarked your site, after I found a link on another blog. IDR which one now. I love your posts and memes but most of all, the beautiful pics from places around the world. I am kind of a curator for 2 WP blogs and I copy/paste what I find to them - so you have a much wider audience than the numbers would present. This is the first time I've ever commented so I doubt that people like me are included. Members of those blogs are from all over the US, from CA to GA to PA and in between (one from Germany, BTW) so...believe me - you are well known, even if only tangentially. I've been here for several years now - I never miss a day since I spend my entire life on-line!

  5. Atlanta GA to Portsmouth NH is $72 in tolls for the 20 hours of driving time and 1180 miles. The return trip I had "Avoid Toll Roads" and it was 1225 miles taking 20 hours and 20 minutes.
