A single-engine plane crashed into a waterfront mobile home park in Florida, leaving several dead and damaging homes. "I can confirm that we have several fatalities both from the aircraft and within the mobile home the plane crashed into,” Clearwater fire chief Scott Ehlers said in a press briefing. Mr Ehlers said the pilot was dead and one person on the ground received a minor injury and refused treatment. Click on the headline for the original story and video of the crash scene if you want to.

More than once in the past I've used a methaphor about when you die - similar to this story - here's the jist of it:
. 'You're an Scottish shepherd relaxing with a wee nip in your hut at the end of the day. BUT - evidently, an Arab guy pissed off at Jews put a bomb on a plane out of Paris and it blew up over your little hut in Locharbe, Scotland and landed on your hut'.
Ya never know how or when you're gonna go. It's just the way it is sometimes...

ReplyDeleteit's not bad enough that people live in motor homes had to worry about hurricanes, now they have to worry about planes. Back in '66. I was stationed at NAS Key West. Our head petty officer lived in a trailer park one key up from Boca Chica. He asked us to give him a hand in anchoring his trailer for an upcoming hurricane. We used cinder blocks under the frame and 3 steel cables across the roof anchored with concrete. After the hurricane hit, his trailer was the only one still standing. As we drove to his site, I recall looking everywhere and seeing nothing but garbage and twisted metal. Then I realized that was the trailer park. Everything was demolished except for Tate's trailer.
