  1. You could probably toss Management of Information Systems business degree in there. My group of 14 that graduated with me only had one person that lasted longer than I did in IT. I lasted 11 years and the other guy lasted 6 months longer. That was back in 2002. I was Air Guard and volunteered for Active Duty assignments for 2 years before I landed a job in my military trade. I built Satellite Earth Stations and Data Centers until I retired. There was a 3 year period I made more money than the 11 years I worked IT Systems. Having the degree helped with promotions as it gave me an edge over the other techs until the company embraced Diversity. The company went under in 3 years. I jumped ship as soon as they uttered the Diversity initiative. I had seen it kill a competitor in the IT field in the mid 90's and the the cancer spread to my company and I rode it out. That killed my IT career.
