FoxNews.com - Sen. John Fetterman praised the pause on the Senate's dress code for members, but some Republicans criticized the move, with one calling it an "embarrassment" to the American people. "I feel it's a little more freedom, which should be bipartisanship," Fetterman, a Pennsylvania Democrat known for his relaxed attire, told Fox News. "I don't know why the right side seems to be losing their minds over it."
"I think it's a good thing, but I'm going to use it sparingly," he added while wearing a short-sleeve button down. "I hope other colleagues take advantage of it too."
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer directed the Sergeant-at-Arms to stop enforcing a dress code for its members. The move follows the debate about whether Fetterman's 'leisurely attire' is appropriate for a member of the upper chamber.

Amazon said Tuesday it’s hiring 250,000 employees in
the U.S. to help manage the holiday rush. It’s also bumping the average hourly pay for warehouse and delivery workers. Amazon typically boosts its headcount around the peak holiday shopping season, bringing on hordes of temporary workers so it can better keep up with the surge in demand.
The holiday hiring number is a significant step up from previous years. Last year, the company said it would bring on 150,000 people to staff up for the holidays. The hires will include full-time, part-time and seasonal warehouse and delivery employees, Amazon said. Hourly wages for those roles will range between $17 and $28, and the company is offering sign-on bonuses worth $1,000 to $3,000 in some locations.

Re: Gas prices. Back when we lived in Odessa, where oil is produced and refined, we would be on a trip and be in some little place and it occurred to me the price was lower. Somewhere where it all had to be hauled in from miles away. Never did figure that out. But then, here in America where drugs that are made here cost us more than they cost in Canada. How does that work?
ReplyDeleteI was in Reno yesterday (9/19) and Diesel was $1.10 / gallon cheaper there than in my town in Northern California. There is a tank farm in Sparks there is also one 15 miles from my house. Reno/Sparks I believe they haul it in by train while may area is underground pipeline. Guv Screwsome and his taxes are to blame.
