It's kinda like when a little kid closes his eyes to make you disappear, isn't it?
They'll keep his name on the school, but that plaque's 'gotta go'. Idiots...
The plaque honoring Traveller, placed over the horse's gravesite, was removed from it's place outside Lee Chapel, which is a National Historic Landmark as part of a series of removals. In July, the school got rid of plaques enshrining the room where Lee took his oath of office as president of the school in 1865 and the other denoting his office from 1865-68. In 2021, the school announced a plan devoted to concepts of diversity, equity and inclusion that removed much of the general's imprint on the school.
The story of this stupidity is here:
I agree. All traces of the democrats losing their slaves must be removed from history, including the generals that fought for them. That way the democrats can pretend they did not own slaves.
ReplyDeleteMy question: Was the plaque returned to the Daughters of Confederacy?
ReplyDeleteW&L isn't earning any awards or respect from me for this kind of sycophantic social cowardice. As tuition increases and student loan defaults accelerate, I hope they go under so that someone with integrity can buy them up for pennies on the dollar and run a real university..
