Some days more than others it's hard to get started...

It was easy for Dorothy, she had a buncha munchkins
who told  her where to start...

I woke up in the middle of the night for some fucked up reason and thought about Dorothy's troubles on her struggle to just get back home.
I know - musta been those three shots of Jameson or the halfa dube I burned before bed, but anyway - think about this for a minute - this movie has been around my entire life, so I've probably seen it 60 times at least, and yet it gets better every single time I watch it. Go figure.

Kamala Harris opened the 2024 presidential campaign with a warning to Republican leaders who want to scale back access to abortion: Don't get in our way.
Appearing before Democratic activists and young voters, Harris launched into a fiery attack on Republican-led states and anti-abortion groups that have been making use of legislatures and friendly courts to limit access to the procedure.
"The true sign of a leader, the measure of a leader is not based on who you beat down and belittle," Harris said at Howard University, a historically Black institution that is also her alma mater. "It is based and measured on who you lift up."
If there's one thing I do know about politics and voters, it is that voters do not like to be threatened by anyone for any reason. 'Don't get in our way' is an implied threat.

We ate a little late last night 'causa we were out drinkin' earlier. The weather yesterday was friggin' crazy. Hail the size of dimes in the afternoon and then beautiful and 80 at 8:30. Go figure. Gotta love dining al fresco this time of year...

Aside from me putting the emphasis circle thing in, this was an actual post this morning on Google's news page. Nothing. They found nothing and they posted that they didn't. I like subtle, but that's just a little too obtuse for me. I think it's hilarious.

NPR - The Texas Department of Agriculture is ordering its employees to comply with a new dress code, mandating they abide by it in a "manner consistent with their biological gender." An ACLU attorney says it violates federal law that bans employment discrimination based on one's sexual orientation or gender identity.
In a copy of the April 13 memo first obtained by The Texas Observer, the new dress code — handed down by Sid Miller, the state's agriculture commissioner — is required by all employees as a part of a "dress code and grooming policy." "Employees are expected to comply with this dress code in a manner consistent with their biological gender," the new policy said.

British war workers take a seaside break on a beach in Cornwall, September 6th, 1943. Trust me when I say there ain't that many 'beach days' in England the way we think of 'em. In that picture it coulda been 45 degrees and they'd still think it 'balmy'...
