Just when you thought the rich were different, you had no idea...

Taylor Swift’s has a Scottish fold cat named Olivia Benson that she posts about on her instagram account, and it's supposedly the third-richest pet in the world, according to a new report from All About Cats.com. According to the website, her fat little cat has somehow managed to claw together an impressive estimated net worth of $97 million.
Feline fine at No. 2, with an estimated $100 million, is social media influencer @Nala_cat, a Siamese and tabby mix that belongs to one of those online 'influencers' (https://www.instagram.com/nala_cat/?hl=en)
German Shepherd Gunther VI, owned by the Italian media company Gunther Corporation, nabbed the prize for richest pet in the world with a jaw-dropping $500 million. The dog actually inherited money from it's father. Crazy shit, right?

Isn't anyone gonna ask what a cat or a dog does with it's money?
That was the first thing I thought of when I saw this stupidity...

Here's your answer - The list was made using Instagram analytics and the pet’s potential payday per social media post. In 2020, Swift posted a pic of Olivia sprawled out on a couch, which garnered more than 2 million likes on her Instagram page. I would imagine a good percentage of those people also vote. That explains a lot, doesn't it? Juss' sayin'...

  1. I suspect that these pets are just covered (beneficiary) by a trust, since there is no way they can legally hold title to any kind of property. So what it really means is that the trustee has a fiduciary responsibility to care for the animal per the terms of the trust.

Now, if you are talking about what the commercial value of that animal's image on social media, then that value belongs to the owner, not the animal.
