It's all smoke and mirrors and people keep buying in to it...

It'll take time, but eventually everyone will figure out that this whole 'EV' thing is bullshit and will never work...

Xaviar and Alice Steavenson wanted to find out what it's like to drive a Tesla, so they rented one from Hertz for a trip from Orlando, Florida, to Wichita, Kansas.
They say they knew the electric car would need charging en route - and expected it to take longer after the weather turned so cold in late December - but what the siblings didn't expect was just how often they'd need to plug it in. Xaviar Steavenson told Insider it got to the point that the "battery would drain faster than it would charge."
When they set off, Steavenson said, they could drive for at least 2 ½ hours before needing to charge the Tesla. "We ended up having to stop every one to 1 ½ hours to charge for an hour, then an hour and a half, then two hours," he said.
"So beyond the lost time, it also got to the point it was between $25 and $30 to recharge," Steavenson said. "Just in one day, we stopped six times to charge at that cost."
 ...

A neighbor of mine has a Tesla. He can go somewehere around 50 miles - round trip- before it has to be full recharged. 50 miles - that's it. All he does is bitch about this used 2019 piece of shit car he paid $ 33,000.00 for.
He went to the Tesla dealer in Orlando and the guy there said the only thing he could do to improve those numbers was to buy one of the newer, 'more efficient' batteries for the car. The price? More than he paid for the car - $ 37,000.00.  Funniest thing is, his Duke Electric bill is triple what mine is and his house is smaller than mine. Not braggin', juss' sayin'.
So go ahead tree huggers - charge up and save the planet. Morons.

Elon Musk is the first person in History to ever lose $ 200,000,000,000. Think he gives a shit?

Tesla stock - if you liked it at $ 400.00,
you'll love it at one-quarter the price.

This guy just did not want to go back to the slam.
I almost can't blame him, but...

New York State Governess Democrat Gov. Kathy Hochul signed legislation on Saturday to legalize natural organic reduction, better known as “human composting.” The move makes New York the sixth state in the country to greenlight the eco-friendly burial.
New York state Assembly Member Amy Paulin (D-Westchester) and state Sen. Leroy Comrie (D-Queens), co-sponsored the bill to legalize human composting as part of measures the state is putting in place to eliminate carbon emissions by 2050.
Washington became the first state to legalize human composting in 2019. Colorado and Oregon followed suit in 2021 and Vermont and California in 2022. The 60-day, chemical-free compost-mortem process involves putting a person’s remains in a “vessel” with organic material such as straw, alfalfa or sawdust. The box is sealed and attached to an HVAC system, and the remains are allowed to decompose. At the 30-day mark, the contents are screened for inorganic material and remaining bone is broken up and put back in. After another 30 days, the contents are returned to the family.
Or you could opt for something even more off the friggin' wall if your dear departed was a tree-hugger. You can turn him or her in to a tree:

Yup - you can do it for that Great-Aunt who left you out of her will or that cousin you never really liked all that much who ended up dying in a tragic hot air ballon accident, and it'll be very stylish, too...

Put this drive on your bucket list. Takes about three hours -
sorta - to travel from the top all the way to Mile 0.

It's a nice drive and you end up in Key West, which may or may not be your cup ot tea, but there's a shitload of cool bars down there, and the people-watching is almost un-paralleled. Me, personally, I make my wife drive over the Seven Mile Bridge, but that's a story for another day that I may or may not ever tell, suffice to say me and bridges don't get along that well. They have some great parties down there, like this one at the end of January:

Home from Basic on a short leave with a buddy of mine Mike Doucette back in February of '72. Man it was cold that year.

A Virginia police officer apparently wasted no time starting off the new year with a bang. The Fairfax County Police Department announced it was forced to launch an internal investigation Sunday into “inappropriate radio transmissions” broadcast over the police radio system shortly after midnight. The culprit? An off-duty officer who had inadvertently turned on his police radio while listening to some “audio porn” in his car, according to a post on the department’s blog. “The ‘audio porn’ in question has been positively confirmed as the same file broadcast over our police radio system,” the department wrote. “Our Internal Affairs Bureau is continuing this investigation.” The officer was alone in the car, the department clarified. I didn't even know there was such a thing as 'audio porn'. Go figure...

  5. Seven mile bridge is a little weird.
    Especially at night.

Wife & I don't usually go all the way to Key West. Usually dive the upper keys and only go as far down as Wahoos at mile post 83.
