Pot for fun is now available in Greenwich Village. Go figure...

NYC's first legal weed dispensary opens it's doors (at 4.20pm): Hundreds of New Yorkers line the block to get their hands on potent marijuana and edibles at Village store next to NYU - of course...

People are funny - they'd rather pay twice as much for half as much as they can buy on the street - right in front of this store...

Housing Works Cannabis Co. opened in lower Manhattan on Thursday. The dispensary is the first to open since New York legalized weed in 2021. Legal marijuana sales are anticipated to result in $1.3 billion. About 36 licenses to sell have been issued with more stores to open next year.

  1. It's more the novelty of buying it legally in the store and a little bit of just how good is the legal product compared to the "street" product. Give it six months (or less) and most of the buyers this morning will revert back to "their guy."

  2. When even stoners figure out street weed is cheaper (and better?) these stores will go bust.

  3. how much you want to bet that the owner was a big time contributor to dems or the relative of one?
