Did you forget they were Nazis?

This is the Hindenburg moored outside it's hangar in Lakehurst, NJ. Check the insignia on the tail fin. You're probably more accustomed to seeing this picture of the ship:

  1. I'm over there around once a week. Drive right by Hanger One on way to the PX. The only remnant of the crash is a small marker and plaque at the other end of the field.

  2. I remember the hanger from running around the Ft Dix pine barrens in the 1980's. It was rather immense sitting in the distance.

  4. Did a job at Lakehurst NAS in 1984.....after the precon meeting, the engineer running the meeting asked if there were any questions.....one guy said "Where did the Blimp crash?"....his answer was "Doesn't anybody know anything else about this place?"....to be honest there really isn't much else to know....
