It's called 'preaching to the choir' when a guy like him tells lies like that and the masses weep and moan and applaud with glee. Buying in to bullshit and rhetoric is for the lame-brained masses who choose not to think for themselves. The worst part is, they know they're being lied to, and they tell themselves over and over that it's better to be lied to than to admit the truth.
Obama is a prime example of how people get smooshed so easily. They accept his down home, ordinary guy without a tie bullshit image and swallow as whole truth the bullshit he spews to them. Yetsreday, he provided them all wih this little cherishable nugget: “I know most people want to watch football, or HGTV, or ‘The Great British Baking Show,’ but I am here to tell you, Pittsburgh, that tuning out is not an option,” Obama said. “The only way to make this economy fair is to together fight for it. The only way to save democracy is to together fight for it.”

This quote has also been attributed to Josef Geobbels, but it doesn't really matter who said it first. It's only important that we understand and fear the message.

What a different generation they were - This is a great story. Ruth Hensinger was married on July 12, 1947, wearing a dress made from the nylon parachute that saved her husband's life.
Maj. Claude Hensinger, a B-29 pilot, was returning from a raid over Japan in August 1944 when his engine caught fire. When he proposed to Ruth after the war, he offered her the material from the parachute that saved him. She worked with a seamstress to create the bodice, and used the strings on the parachute to shorten the front of the dress and create a train in the back.
The dress was also worn by their daughter and by their son’s bride before being donated to the Smithsonian.
... It's a ten second or so clip but funny just the same...

The multi-billionaire hasn’t been shy about making changes, and has already reportedly fired several of the company’s top executives. However, it looks like all of Musk’s changes and promises aren’t pleasing everybody on Twitter. Many barely-famous but nonetheless full-of-themselves psuedo-celebreties are trying to make a statement and bolster their lifeless lives. These faceless nobodies-who-think-they're-somebody's are fleeing the online platform, announcing that they aren’t willing to stick around and see what the Tesla boss has in store.
A perfect example of the 'who the fuck are you crowd' - Grey’s Anatomy screenwriter Shonda Rhimes - bid farewell to Twitter on Saturday (October 29), writing: “Not hanging around for whatever Elon has planned. Bye.” This Is Us producer Ken Olin followed suit, tweeting: “I’m out of here. No judgement.” “Let’s keep the faith. Let’s protect our democracy. Let’s try to be kinder. Let’s try to save the planet,” Olin added.
Bill and Ted star Alex Winter also appeared to ditch Twitter. After wiping his tweet history, the star left behind a Linktree address and a meme depicting Musk, Donald Trump, and Kanye West as the three musketeers.
Other celebs openly debated whether to stay or go. Beauty and the Beast star Josh Gad tweeted: “Large exodus happening on this platform. Not sure if I stay or not. Leaning toward staying, but if today is a sign of things to come, not sure what the point is.”
Just one point to these chuckleheads. Nobody gives a fuck. Nobody. Anywhere...

Florida Congressman Daniel Webster (R-Clermont) is introducing H.R. 6590, the Senior Citizens Tax Elimination Act. This bill assists middle-class seniors by eliminating the unjust double-tax on Social Security benefits.
“For decades, seniors have paid into Social Security with their tax dollars. Now, when many seniors are on a fixed income and struggling financially, they are being double-taxed because of income taxes on their Social Security benefits. This is wrong and I’m pleased to once again co-sponsor this legislation to repeal this tax.”
... That's a great example of how petty and just plain fuckin' stupid some people have gotten nowadays...

I'm pretty sure you've seen this, and it isn't actually 100% true, although Biden was one of 88 senators who voted for a bipartisan bill in 1983 to tax up to 50% of Social Security for beneficiaries with income above a certain threshold. That vote came at a time when the Social Security trust fund for retirement benefits was running out of money.
Wanna know why the New York Times is such a piee of shit 'news paper'? Read this:
In the early 1980s, President Ronald Reagan, with congressional leaders, convened a bipartisan commission to study the issue. In 1983, that commission issued a report that formed the basis for amendments to the Social Security program. Among the recommendations in the report was that benefits be taxed as income for recipients who had income over a certain threshold. It ended up with all of it being taxable - against Reagan's wishes, but he signed the bill anyway.

Biden and Obama, like the First Officer and Captain of the Titanic after it hit the iceberg complaining that their critics don't have a solution. No kidding, asshole. It's too late.
ReplyDeleteThe whole country is unprepared for handling the inflation and cratering economy that the Democrats have foisted on us. It's a problem with only a very unpalatable and unhappy solution .... Hyperinflation followed by Economic Depression. There are no easy ways out. It's time for everyone with a lick of sense to find a life jacket.
Taxing of social Security. I call it 'double dipping' where depending on how much I take out of my 401k I pay a total of 53% combined federal and state taxes. The official name is not 'double dipping', but 'tax torpedo'. What I started doing this year is deliberately pull out more than I need so that NEXT year I can stay below that double dipping. Sadly, the RMD is starting to mess with that strategy. Crazy Joe though, messing up the value of my 401k, is lowering that RMD for next year BIG TIME.
ReplyDeleteI thought Goebbels said "the bigger the lie the more people will believe it"....he might have said this one too, though....who knows....
