We live in decidedly confusing and frustrating times, wouldn'tja say?

Friend of mine said 'Taking oil from the Strategic Supply is like spending your IRA money before you retire.' Sounds about right...
The Biden administration on Tuesday said it will sell an additional 20 million barrels of oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve as part of a previous plan to tap the facility to calm oil prices boosted by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and as demand recovers from the pandemic.

Wasn't the whole idea behind this to have a reserve if we ever had to go to war and couldn't get oil from overseas sources? Is this President so clueless and so desperate for any good idea that he'd do something this stupid?
Especially when you have to replace the oil at market price from rogue suppliers because you've restricted drilling and exploration in your own country that you have to go begging for more? I just don't get it, but then again, I'm not smart enough to get elected, so what the fuck do I know...

The Strategic Petroleum Reserve is a U.S. Government complex of four sites with deep underground storage caverns created in salt domes along the Texas and Louisiana Gulf Coasts. The SPR was filled to its then 727 million barrel authorized storage capacity on December 27, 2009; the inventory of 726.6 million barrels was the highest ever held in the SPR.

This is what you get when you do that 'catch-and'release' bullshit - you get little punk fuckers like this kid thinking they're bulletproof.
A piece of shit black kid - accused of attacking an NYPD cop while free on bail - asked a judge if he could press charges during a court appearance. The 16 year-old, who isn't being named, asked Judge Althea Drysdale if he could file charges during a court appearance in Manhattan Tuesday. But his response to a question about what accusations he'd like to make was inaudible. Tuesday's court hearing saw the teen respond 'Yes, your honor' to every question he was previously asked.
NYC Mayor Eric Adams said the decision to free the boy on bail again had reduced Big Apple to a national 'laughingstock' over what critics say are woke bail laws that prioritize the well-being of suspects over crime victims. The boy has now been released to a family center in Brooklyn, although he will be free to roam during the day, and summoned back each evening for a curfew. Video showed the 16-year-old punching the cop in the head before grabbing him around the neck and slamming him repeatedly into metal railings on Saturday. The little dooshbag thug wannabee was previously arrested for possession of a loaded gun and robbery last Wednesday, but was released the next day after appearing in court.

I had a girlfriend that lazy once...
...

Speaking of ex-girlfriends, I once dated a really cute gal from Upper Montclair, NJ, who's Dad was some kinda world-famous New York City brain surgeon to the rich and famous or some shit. All I knew was that they lived in a really big-ass friggin' mansion in this real toney-snooty town, and I couldn't figure for the life of me what she was doing with a downtown guy like me, but that's a whole different story I may tell some other time.
Anyways, she had one of these cars - I think her father bought it for her for her 19th birthday or some shit. That thing was a complete piece of shit - brand new and it was falling apart on an almost daily basis.
It was in the dealership's shop more often than it was on the road, and when it was running, it sounded like a metal cigar box fulla nuts and bolts and shit going down the street. Why she kept the car and dumped me, I'll never figure out...

That's fairly dynamic, isn't it? Almost doesn't look real.

He was really flying - or a least so he thought. A Lamborghini SUV vaulted 20 feet through the air and hit the roof of a home Sunday after running a stop sign and smashing into another car, according to reports.
Video of the wild Fort Lauderdale collision shows the white luxury vehicle - which can cost more than $200,000 - getting T-boned by a Nissan SUV after speeding into an intersection.
According to witnesses, the six-figure stunner hit a nearby roof and flipped before coming to rest on the other side and bursting into flames. “It appears that the car flew through the air about 20 to 30 feet,” said Fort Lauderdale Assistant Fire Chief Timothy Heiser said.

With the car burning and the driver still inside, good Samaritan Clarence Middleton quickly dragged the driver out and laid him down nearby. “He was hurt at first,” Middleton said. “But as soon as I picked him up he snapped back out of it.”
The stunned witness said the shoeless man sprinted off without looking back.
The driver ended up going to the hospital on his own, and the cops found him there. It turns out the car wasn't stolen as the cops thought - the guy had rented the Lamborghini Uru from a Miami luxury car dealer that morning...

Senate Democrats are admitting defeat in their efforts to slip an amnesty for millions of illegal aliens into an upcoming budget reconciliation package.
While Senate Democrats and Republicans are currently negotiating a reconciliation package — a filibuster-proof budget that only needs majority support to pass — Sen. Dick Durbin admitted that amnesty for illegal aliens will not make it into the final deal.
